Real Madrid come into this one with a 3-2 advantage after defeating City at the Etihad last week in a dramatic tie. It’s likely they’ll progress here and go far in the competition, and they’re 4/1 to win it. City have got it all to do here, but if they do progress they’ll be confident of going far too. They’re 20/1 to win the competition and 7/1 to reach the final.

Real Madrid vs Man City Predictions

I think Real Madrid will come out on top here and comfortably progress. It was a fantastic game at the Etihad last week in which Madrid came from behind to win 2-3, showing their class, grit and determination to overcome Pep Guardiola’s side. Los Blancos have lost just one of their last 10 in all competitions and are level on points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga. Despite City regaining their good form, I think they’ll struggle here away to Madrid, and I think Carlo Ancelotti’s side will come out on top. That said, I do think both teams will score. Last week’s fixture proved that both teams have an abundance of attacking quality, and with what’s at stake, both teams will be at it from the off. City will be looking to pull the fixture level early doors, while Madrid will be keen to put the tie to bed in the first half. I expect this one to be an extremely fast-paced encounter and I think both teams to score is nailed on. Similar to last week, we’re backing Vini Jr to score or assist. This season, he has 15 goals and eight assists to his name across all competitions. He chipped in with two assists last week, for Brahim Diaz’s equaliser before creating Jude Bellingham’s 92nd-minute winner. There will be plenty of chances for both teams here, and Vini Jr is great odds of being involved in a goal by either scoring or assisting. We’ve gone for one player to be carded here – Man City’s Josko Gvardiol. Any fullback coming up directly against Rodrygo will be in for a tough 90 minutes. He will also face Kylian Mbappe and Vini Jr, so there’s a great chance of him fouling several times. He has been carded just once this season, but I think there’s a great chance of him being booked here against a formidable Madrid front line.
