It’s a match-up between two of the Premier League’s huge, historic clubs this weekend as Nottingham Forest travel to Birmingham to face Aston Villa. Villa are third, while Forest are down in 17^th.

Aston Villa had won 11 matches on the bounce – their best run since 1914 – but that ended when they were beaten 4-1 by league leaders Arsenal last time out.

Forest have lost three games on the bounce, and have won only five of their 19 league matches this season.

BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Aston Villa to win (3/4)

I think Aston Villa will get back to winning ways following their heavy defeat to Arsenal last time out. They had won 11 games in a row before that, and still lie only six points off the top of the league. They won’t want to lose momentum, and as they come into this one against a Forest side without a win in three, they have a good opportunity to regain their form. I think 3/4 is great odds for Villa to get the win at home.

Ollie Watkins over 0.5 shots on target (1/2)

I’m backing England striker Ollie Watkins to have one or more shots on target against Forest on Saturday. He has scored six goals this season – all in the Premier League – including that late consolation against Arsenal on Tuesday. He has had 38 shots overall in the league, with 16 shots on target, an average not far shy of one per game. Villa will have a good amount of chances here, and I expect at least one shot on target from Watkins.

7/5 is good odds for Watkins to bag his seventh of the season, and his fourth in three matches. Taking him for a goal boosts this bet builder tip to 17/1.

Morgan Rogers over 0.5 shots on target (8/13)

Morgan Rogers has had a great season so far, scoring seven goals in 19 league matches from the wing. His most recent goals came in a brace in a victory over Chelsea just one week ago. He has had 15 shots on target this season from 35 shots overall. Like Watkins, I think there’s a good chance he will have at least one shot on target.

Neco Williams to be carded (5/2)

I think Welshman Neco Williams is good odds to pick up a card in this one. The right back has been carded four times in his 19 league appearances so far this season. In that time, he has made 14 fouls, an average well over 0.5 fouls per game. He has also been fouled 32 times, meaning he is often involved in battles out on the right. He’s likely to come up against Morgan Rogers here, who has been fouled 24 times in the league. That won’t be an easy match-up for Williams, and I expect him to make several fouls. He’s good odds for a card.
