Man City to win (4/7)

This may be one of the least surprising selections you read today, but I can’t see past a Man City win in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon. Pep Guardiola’s side have had an excellent season and are just two points off the top. They’ll be confident they can go on to win the title this season, but if they’re to do that, they can’t afford to slip up in games like this. I don’t think there’s much chance of that, as they come up against a Forest side who have won only five league matches in 17. 4/7 is short odds, but it’s a solid selection to add to this bet builder.

BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Both teams to score – no (5/4)

I don’t think both teams will score here. Odds of 5/4 for both teams not to score is excellent, as I think City have a great chance of keeping a clean sheet. They have the best goal difference in the league with 25, having scored 41 and conceded just 16. That also gives them the second-best defensive record behind Arsenal. In four of their last five matches in all competitions, Manchester City have won the game without conceding, with the only team scoring against them in that time being Real Madrid. Both teams have scored only twice in the last 10 meetings between these two, dating back to October 2001. I think this has a real chance of landing.

Erling Haaland to score (8/13)

I’m backing City’s prolific striker Erling Haaland to get on the scoresheet yet again this weekend. The Norwegian has scored 19 Premier League goals this season, in just 17 appearances, meaning he scores every 77 minutes on average. He also has six in six in the Champions League, and scored 16 in eight for Norway in their World Cup qualifying campaign. He’s a safe bet to score again here.

ALTERNATIVE BET – Erling Haaland to score 2 or more goals @ 12/5

Haaland has scored two in each of his last two matches, and 12/5 is great odds for him to do that again here.

Elliot Anderson to be carded (4/1)

I think odds of 4/1 are fantastic for Elliot Anderson to pick up a booking here. The former Newcastle midfielder has been carded three times in the league this season, making 25 fouls, an average of 1.5 fouls per game. On top of his three Premier League bookings, he has also been carded twice in five Europa League outings for Forest this season, making 13 fouls. That means he averages more than 1.5 fouls per game across all competitions, and I expect him to make at least a couple against a very strong Man City side. There’s a good chance of him picking up his sixth card of the season in this one.
