Wolves vs Newcastle Betting Preview
Wolves host Newcastle in the first match of Super Sunday this weekend, as they look to continue their four-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Wolves have had a terrible season so far, with just seven points from 21 Premier League matches this season. They are bottom of the table, six points behind Burnley in 19th.
Newcastle are just inside the top six, level on points with Manchester United going into the weekend. They have won nine, drawn five and lost seven in the Premier League this season.

I’m backing Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side to do the business over Wolves this Sunday. The Magpies are having a decent season and find themselves in sixth in the league after 21 matches. They have won their last three league matches, and in their last two have defeated Bournemouth on penalties in the FA Cup, before losing to Man City in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup. Wolves hammered Shrewsbury last time out, following draws with Everton and United and a victory over West Ham in their last three league matches. However, rooted to the bottom of the table, I don’t think they’ll get anything from Newcastle here.
Harvey Barnes to score anytime (15/8)
Harvey Barnes is in an impressive run of form, and he’s good odds to score again this weekend. He has scored four goals in his last three outings for Newcastle, and his form could find him on the plane to the World Cup this summer, as he can represent either England or Scotland. He has 11 goals to his name in all competitions, and as Wolves have the second worst defensive record in the division, I think there’s a good chance he will score again on Sunday.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Harvey Barnes over 0.5 shots on target @ 11/20
11/20 is still decent odds for him to have one or more shots on target this weekend. He has had 15 shots in 20 league appearances this season. Taking this selection instead of him to score reduces the odds of this bet builder to 22/1.
Joao Gomes to be booked (2/1)
Joao Gomes is the first of two players I’m backing for a card in this fixture. The Brazilian midfielders has been carded six times in the league this season, making 41 fouls in 20 appearances in the league, an average of more than two per game. He has also picked up one booking in the Carabao Cup. It’ll be a difficult game for him here, and I reckon there’s a good chance he will be carded.
Joelinton to be carded (13/5)
Newcastle midfielder Joelinton is the second man I’m taking for a card here, increasing the odds of this bet to a solid 33/1. The 29-year-old has picked up nine bookings in all competitions this season, making 22 fouls in 17 league appearances.
