Aston Villa betting tips

Everton travel to Villa Park this weekend as they take on an Aston Villa side who are third in the league, six points behind league leaders Arsenal and level on points with Man City in second.

The Toffees have had a very mixed season and find themselves in 12th in the league, with eight victory’s from 21 matches.

Villa have won 13 in the league, drawing four and losing four. A win this weekend will keep them close at the top of the pile.

Aston Villa vs Everton Bet Builder Tip

  • Aston Villa to win (4/6)
  • Ollie Watkins over 0.5 shots on target ( 21/50)
  • Matty Cash to be booked (4/1)
  • James Garner to be booked (3/1)

Aston Villa to win (4/6)

The Villains are having a superb season under Unai Emery, and have firmly cemented themselves in the top three, eight points above Liverpool in fourth. They have won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions, with their only defeat in that time a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Arsenal at the end of December. Everton are winless in three, with just one victory in their last seven matches. I think Villa will be too strong for them here, and I think the points will stay in Birmingham.

Ollie Watkins over 0.5 shots on target (21/50)

I think Villa striker Ollie Watkins will have at least one shot on target here. He’s enjoying another decent season in front of goal, with seven league goals to his name this season. In his 21 appearances, he has had 44 shots with 19 on target, an average just shy of one per game. Villa should create chances here, and I think he will have a shot on target.

ALTERNATIVE BET – Ollie Watkins to score @ 11/8

Taking Ollie Watkins for a goal in this one boosts the odds of this bet to 40/1. As I said, Villa will create chances, and I’d fancy a few of them to fall to Ollie Watkins.

BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Matty Cash to be booked (4/1)

I think Villa full back Matty Cash is fantastic odds to be booked at odds of 4/1. He has been carded seven times in all competitions this season, with five bookings in the league and two in the Europa League. He has made 24 fouls in 20 league appearances, and I expect him to maintain that strong average in this one with a few fouls. 4/1 is great odds – and it would be a good single bet as well as a solid addition to a bet builder.

James Garner to be booked (3/1)

The second player I think is good odds for a card is James Garner at 3/1. He has been booked five times in his 24 appearances in all competitions this season, with four in the league and one in the Carabao Cup. He has made 15 fouls in the league, and I think at 3/1 he’s a good shout for a card this weekend.
