Spain and England face off in the Euro 2024 final tonight and Betfred have boosted…
When we talk about performing under the biggest lights and showing everyone what loyalty, dedication, and passion in the world of football mean, we talk about the European Championships. This prestigious tournament includes some of the world’s best national teams which is why it is so entertaining to watch.
Group D is labelled by many fans as the most competitive group in the championship. We have one of the biggest favourites to win Euro 2020 – England, along with the World Cup finalists Croatia. Not only that, but Scotland and the Czech Republic will be there to capitalize on every possible mistake that these two favourites would make. We are going to take a look at each of the teams in this group and see what are their chances of winning the Euro 2020.

As stated earlier, Croatia were the World Cup finalists back in 2018 and they managed to shock the world with their quality of play, dedication, and sacrifice. This European championship does not look any different to them as they are on the track to continue their fabulous run and write history. Not only that, but the players are looking more motivated than ever since this will be the last chance for many of them to help the team achieve greatness.
The likes of Luka Modric, Ivan Perisic, Ivan Rakitic, and Domagoj Viga are all in their 30s and this will likely be one of the last tournaments for them. With that being said, bookmakers have given Croatia 3/1 odds of finishing first in Group D, while their odds of winning Euro 2020 are 28/1. One thing that is worth a mention is that Croatia has been a bit inconsistent in their last couple of competitive matches – they had 2 wins and 3 defeats in the last 5 games.
Next up, we have the biggest favourite for the Euro 2020 title. Even though England always had some of the best players on the planet, their problem was that they could never work together and achieve the greatness all of us thought they could. After all, their golden generation which had the likes of Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, Ferdinand, etc., did not manage to win anything. However, all of that has changed now, and the Euro is likely ‘to come home’.
The Lions have been on a fantastic recent form as they have lost only 2 out of the last 10 games. Some of the players that are going to be led by Gareth Southgate in this competition are Sterling, Kane, Calver-Lewin, Phil Foden, Mason Mount, Kyle Walker, and Eric Dier. There’s no denying that they are a force to be reckoned with, which is why bookmakers consider them the biggest favourites in Group D.
Their odds of finishing at the top of the group are 2/5, while their odds of winning Euro 2020 are 5/1. England is the joint favourites with France to win the European championship.
Next up, we have the biggest underdog in Group D. Scotland are also one of the teams that have barely managed to qualify for Euro 2020. However, they do mean business and just because they have 2 of arguably the best team in the championship as their opponents, that doesn’t mean that they will make things easy for them. Scotland is more motivated than ever and they are worth looking at because they are always capable of surprising us. And you know what they say, everything is possible in football.
Bookmakers give them 16/1 odds of finishing at the top of Group D and 250/1 odds of actually pulling the biggest surprise and winning Euro 2020. Some players that are worth mentioning are Kieran Tierney, Scott McKenna, as well as Manchester United’s own Scott McTominay.
Finally, we have yet another underdog that deserves a lot more praise and respect than they receive. The Czech Republic will go all-in into this tournament and will do everything it can to climb to the top. They will present a problem for both Croatia and England, which is why the two favourites should not get overconfident.
Czech Republic’s current odds of finishing at the top of Group D are 12/1 while their odds of winning Euro 2020 are 125/1.

Group D will be fun to watch because you have 2 of arguably the best teams in Europe competing for the number 1 spot. To make things even more interesting, both Scotland and the Czech Republic are fierce teams and although many consider them to be outsiders, they will present a problem, which makes this group extremely unpredictable.
England are favourites to win the group at odds of 2/5 but Croatia will also be a threat at 7/2. The opening match of the group sees England face Croatia at Wembley and this will be key to shaping how the final table will look after the six matches.
Scotland are the outsiders to qualify from this group but there can be up to three teams from a group going through, so you would think they would need to beat Czech Republic to stand any chance of qualifying for the Euro 2020 knockout stages.
England – 2/5
Croatia – 3/1
Czech Republic – 12/1
Scotland – 16/1
