Betting odds
- Villa are 3/5 favourites for the win at home
- The draw is 16/5
- A win on the road for Brugge is 17/4
Villa come into this one with a 1-3 win from the first leg in Belgium. They are 28/1 to go on and win the Champions League this season.
Brugge are unlikely to progress, let alone win the competition. To do that, they’re 750/1.

- Raphael Nwadike to be booked
Betting odds: 28/1
Aston Villa vs Club Brugge Predictions
I’m backing Villa to defeat Brugge for the second week in a row as they return to Villa Park for the second leg. Villa have won four of their last five, losing just two of their last 10 in all competitions, so they have form and confidence on their side. Brugge have won four of their last 10 in all competitions, so their form is very mixed, but they do come into this one off the back of a derby victory over Cercle Brugge. I think Villa will win this one comfortably.
Morgan Rogers is having a good season, and I’m backing him to have one or more shots on target in this one. He has bagged 10 goals this season, with seven in the league and three in the Champions League – a hattrick against Celtic at the end of January. In the league, he averages 0.5 shots on target per game, with 14 in 28 appearances. Villa should control the game here, and I think he’s good odds to have one or more shot on target.
John McGinn and Raphael Onyedika Nwadike are the two players we’ve backed for a booking in this one. McGinn has picked up six bookings for Villa this season, all coming in the Premier League, including one last time out against Brentford. He has made 38 fouls in the league this season, an average just under two per game. Nwadike has been carded five times this season, with two reds and three yellows. Three cards have came in the Champions League, with two in the Belgian Pro League. It’ll be a tough 90 minutes for the midfielder, as he comes up against physical players like McGinn and Youri Tielemans. Both he and McGinn are good odds for a booking in this one.
