It’s derby day on Sunday as Leeds welcome fierce rivals Manchester United to Elland Road in the early kick-off. Leeds are 16th, while Man United are 16th.
Leeds have had an average seaso,n but they have been good in recent weeks. They’ve won five matches so far this season but have recently picked up good results against Liverpool (twice) and Chelsea.
Manchester United have had a reasonable season and are only three points outside of the top four. They are unbeaten in eight of their last 10 matches.
Leeds vs Man United Bet Builder Tip
Leeds vs Man United Predictions
- Man United to win (7/4)
- Both teams to score (8/13)
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin over 0.5 shots on target (1/2)
- Casemiro to be carded (2/1)
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Man United to win @ 7/4
It’ll be a closely encountered, fiery derby match between these two this weekend, but I think Ruben Amorim’s Man United will come out on top. The Red Devils have won eight of their 19 Premier League matches this season, drawing six and losing five. They drew 1-1 with Wolves last time out and defeated Newcastle 1-0 on Boxing Day. Leeds have been on a reasonable run, drawing four and winning one of their last five, with their last defeat coming away to City at the end of November. I think they’ll taste defeat from the red side of Manchester here, though, with United good odds to take the victory at 7/4.
Both teams to score (8/13)
I did say I think it’ll be a close game, and I’m backing both teams to get themselves on the scoresheet. Man United have scored 33 goals this season, the third highest in the league. They’ve also conceded 29, however, which is more than any side above 15th in the league. Leeds have scored 25 and conceded 32. Both teams have scored in eight of Leeds’ last 10 matches, with both teams on target in eight of 10 for Man United as well. I think it’ll be end to end, and both teams to score is a good bet.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin over 0.5 shots on target (1/2)
Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had an upturn in form of late. The 28-year-old has scored eight goals in his 17 Premier League appearances this season, already bettering his return in each of the last four seasons. He has had 17 shots on target in the league, giving him an average of exactly one per game. He has scored six in six, despite their last game being a 0-0 draw with Liverpool. I think he will be full of confidence, and is good odds to have at least one shot on target.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score @ 17/10
With his impressive goal return of late, I won’t be surprised if he adds to his tally here. He’s 17/10 for a goal, boosting this bet builder to 34/1.
Casemiro to be carded (2/1)
Man United’s Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is excellent odds to be carded at 2/1, considering his record so far this season. He has been carded eight times so far this season, with seven yellows and one red card in just 17 Premier League appearances – just under one card every two games. He has made 25 fouls in the league, an average well over one per game. With this one being a rivalry fixture, Casemiro is a certainty to make a couple of fouls, and is great odds for a booking.
