Luton vs Aston Villa bet builder tips and predictions for the Premier League fixture on Saturday 2nd March. We have picked out a player to score or assist, player to be booked and a both teams to score bet for this match.
Luton would have been disappointed to see Everton receive four points back this week and that leaves them bang in trouble in the relegation fight. They were battered by Man City in the FA Cup in midweek but manager Rob Edwards shows no signs of changing his style of play as we appricah the business end of the season. Villa are right in the hunt for a Champions League spot and are predicted to win this match. See our 6/1 bet builder tip below.
Luton vs Aston Villa Predictions
- Ollie Watkins to score or assist
Ollie Watkins has been the man in form for Aston Villa this season, as he makes his claim to be in Gareth Southgate’a England squad for the Euro’s in Germany this summer. The striker has bagged 14 goals in his 26 league appearances so far this season, with 10 assists to go with it. A great return for the front man, who has scored five in five. Villa will create plenty of chances here, and I think Watkins is great odds to either score or assist once more here against a Luton side who have conceded 19 goals in their last five matches in all competitions.
With Luton’s current rate of conceding, Villa are nailed on to score. That said, they’ve been among the goals themselves, and have scored in each of their last 13 Premier League matches. Both teams scored the last time these two met, with Villa coming out 3-1 winners at Villa Park, Luton bagging a consolation goal with less than 10 minutes to play. Both teams have also scored in five of Villa’s last six matches in all competitions. I think this is nailed on.
Alfie Doughty has been great for the Hatters so far this season. The midfielder, who has been playing in a defensive role on the left hand side, has played 24 league matches so far this season, picking up three yellow cards in that time, making 18 fouls, an average of over 0.5 per game. Coming up against the likes of Douglas Luiz and John McGinn isn’t easy for any player in the league, and it will be tough for Doughty here. I think he is good odds to pick up his fourth booking of the season.
