Manchester City have had a poor start to the season with just one win in three, with two defeats in their other two outings. They’re 7/1 to win the league this season.

United have lost one, drawn one and won one so a very mixed opening three games. After their 15^th placed finish last season, they’ll be hoping for drastic improvement. They’re 11/10 to finish in the top six, and 7/2 to finish in the top four.

Man City vs Man United Predictions

I’m backing Man City to win this one despite their poor start to the season. They’ll be looking to remedy their poor form here in this derby fixture, and although their opponents don’t have far to travel, I’m backing them to make home advantage count. United are very much a mixed bag, and in a derby fixture, it can be hard to call. However, I think Pep Guardiola’s side will come out on top this weekend.

I do think it’ll be a close encounter, and I’ve gone for both teams to score. United have scored in two of their three league matches, and City have the same record despite their two defeats. This fixture has been hit or miss with goals in the Premier League, with both teams scoring in five of their last 10 league match ups. Both teams will be up for it as they look to build in the early stages of the season, and I think both teams to score is a good shout here.

Erling Haaland is coming into this one having scored five in one game on international duty in Norway’s 11-1 demolition of Belarus. He also got two assists in that game. He’s a goal machine, and already has three league goals to his name this season. I think City will create plenty here and Haaland to be involved by scoring or assisting is a safe bet.

Bruno Fernandes is the man we’re backing for a booking here. The United captain has already been carded once in his three league matches this season, making four fouls – an average of over one per game. He was carded five times in the league last season, and I expect him to make at least a couple of fouls in this derby fixture. Taking him to be carded boosts this bet builder to 9/1 with Bet 365.
