I’m backing them to defeat their visitors Southampton in this one, who are winless in their last three games. The Saints are rooted to the foot of the table after 28 games, losing 17, drawing five and winning only six league games this season. West Ham are only one point ahead and also occupy a place in the relegation zone. However, I think the Hammers will take all three points from this one.

 

Mohammed Salisu to be booked

Mohammed Salisu has played 21 Premier League games from the start this season and has featured from the bench on one other occasion. In that time, he has picked up five yellow cards with an average of 1.22 fouls per game. This will be a physical battle between two sides fighting it out at the bottom of the table and I think there will be plenty of fouls. I’m backing Salisu to pick up his sixth booking of the season in this one.

Jarrod Bowen is known to have a shot from distance. He has maybe not had the best of seasons for West Ham, but I’m backing him to be on form in this one and have at least one shot on target against lowly Southampton. He has scored four goals this season, averaging 0.53 shots on target per game. He will take free kicks from the edge of the area for the Hammers, so his shot on target could come from that. I think this selection has an excellent chance.
