From Haaland to Saka: Who have been the Premier League’s ultimate goal contributors this season?

Erling Haaland goalscorer odds

Although it might be Manchester City’s latest attacking icon who has stolen plenty of the headlines this season, there are a string of Premier League superstars who are enjoying their own extended flurries.

Although the World Cup’s winter break might have caused many top-flight players to struggle with their consistency, a few have come flying out of the traps on either side of the festive interval.

As the Premier League inches its way past the halfway point of this season’s campaign, we have taken a glance at who has been England’s most clinical goal contributors so far.

Erling Haaland – Manchester City

Although Erling Haaland might have endured a somewhat low-key start to the New Year, the 22-year-old has only continued on a record-breaking start to life in the Premier League.

Sending shockwaves across Europe last summer when it was announced that Manchester City had completed a £51.5million swoop, the ex-Borussia Dortmund ace is breezing his way towards this season’s Golden Boot in some style.

Recording his fourth Sky Blue hat-trick on January 22nd as Pep Guardiola’s men claimed a 3-0 victory against relegation scrappers Wolves, Haaland is already priced as low as 1/18 to claim England’s most sought-after striking accolade.

Heading into the halfway point of this season’s Premier League campaign with 25 top-flight strikes to his name, Haaland will know that he has a vital role to play if City’s are to claim a maiden Champions League crown in 2023.

With a staggering 28 Premier League goal contributions in the bank before even opening February, few will be surprised to see that Guardiola’s latest superstar tops the charts.

Harry Kane – Tottenham

Although it might be Haaland who has continued to steal most of the Premier League’s headlines since arriving in England’s top-flight last summer, Harry Kane has enjoyed his own extended flurry this season.

While the England skipper might have failed to drag the Three Lions past the quarter-finals of last year’s World Cup, Kane has continued to set a string of personal records since returning from the festive break.

Bagging the winner as Antonio Conte’s side claimed a 1-0 victory away at Crystal Palace on January 23rd, Tottenham’s homegrown superstar equalled Jimmy Greaves’ record as Spurs’ all-time top scorer with his 266th goal for the club.

Likewise, along with speculation that Kane could be tempted to sign a new long-term deal in north London, the 29-year-old is also enjoying a career-best tally at the halfway point of a Premier League campaign.

With 16 top-flight goals to his name this season – a record that is only surpassed by Haaland – Kane will be crucial in Tottenham’s charge to secure another top-four finish.

The odds for Tottenham to finish in the top 4 are currently 3/1 with William Hill’s £30 welcome bonus if you open a new account and place a £10 bet.

Ivan Toney – Brentford

While Ivan Toney might still find himself at the heart of an FA investigation in regard to potential betting rule breaks, the Brentford talisman is enjoying a stellar Premier League romp.

Although the one-time Newcastle starlet might have been disappointed after getting snubbed by Gareth Southgate for his 26-man World Cup squad, Toney has only underlined why he is now one of England’s most clinical finishers.

With Brentford priced at 4/5 with the Bet Victor welcome offer to claim a maiden top-half finish in 2023, the 26-year-old is spearheading Thomas Frank’s charge to clinch a famous European finish come May.

Forming what has been a feared strike partnership with Bryan Mbeumo, Toney himself has already notched 13 Premier League strikes this season and is one of just five top-flight stars who have reached double digits.

With a further three assists to add to his tally, it is no surprise why Brentford’s MVP has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United over recent months.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal

In the midst of what has quickly become a history-making campaign in north London, Arsenal enter February firmly sat in pole position to claim a first Premier League crown since 2004.

Reaching the halfway point priced at 4/5 with the Bet UK sign-up offer to fend off defending champions Manchester City, Mikel Arteta’s youngsters are flying high and have only made a host of remarkable improvements this season.

Although many Arsenal fans might have been concerned to see Gabriel Jesus pick up a long-term knee injury while away with Brazil at this winter’s World Cup, it has been Bukayo Saka who has been leading Arteta’s youthful revolution.

Already notching seven top-flight strikes and cruising towards a career-best tally, the England international is also tipped among the leading contenders to be crowned this year’s PFA Young Player of the Year.

With only Manchester City icon Kevin De Bruyne recording more than Saka’s seven Premier League assists so far this season, the 21-year-old is quickly writing himself into Arsenal folklore.
