The Champions League is back for fixture three of the season, and Arsenal welcome La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid to the Emirates as they look to make it three wins from three. Arsenal are fifth in the table, one of six teams to be on maximum points, while Atletico have won one of their opening two.
Arsenal come into this one in fine form. They are three points clear at the top of the Premier League and are unbeaten in eight.
Atletico have had a decent start to the season with four wins, four draws and one defeat, leaving them fourth in La Liga on 16 points.

Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid Predictions
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Arsenal to win @ 3/5
Arsenal are absolutely flying, and they come into this one having suffered just one defeat this season – an away loss to Liverpool. They have kept a clean sheet in nine of their 12 competitive fixtures this season, conceding just three in the Premier League and none in their two Champions League outings. They have won all but one of their home matches this season, with the only non-victory a 1-1 draw to title rivals Man City. I think they’ll win this one at the Emirates.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Arsenal half-time/full-time @ 7/5
With so few goals conceded, Arsenal could win this one comfortably. They have been winning at half time and full time in three of their last five, and if you take them to do that here, you could boost this bet to a massive 75/1.
Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid Anytime Scorer Tip – Viktor Gyokeres to score (11/8)
Viktor Gyokeres hasn’t hit the goal-scoring highs he had at Sporting in the red of Arsenal yet, but I expect it’ll come. He has bagged three goals in eight Premier League matches this season, which isn’t bad. However, when you consider he scored 39 in 33 league games for Sporting last season, you might expect a little more from him. Arsenal are creating chances, and he will have one or two here. I think he’s good odds to get his first Champions League goal of the season.
Cards Tip – Robin Le Normand to be carded – (11/4)
I’m backing Atletico centre back Robin Le Normand to pick up a card here. The Spaniard has collected three bookings this season – two in eight La Liga outings, and one in two in the Champions League. He has made seven fouls in the league this season, and with Arsenal’s pace and power up front, I think he will be forced into a couple here.
Cards Tip – Declan Rice to be carded (5/1)
The highest odds selection on this bet builder – a Declan Rice card. The England midfielder is an ever-present for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but is yet to be carded in his eight Premier League appearances this season. That said, he has featured in both of the Gunners’ Champions League matches, and has been booked in both games. It’s one more booking for a Champions League suspension for Rice, but that won’t matter too much in the league phase of the competition, so it won’t be a huge worry. It’ll be a difficult midfield battle, and at odds of 5/1, it’s difficult to ignore a player who has been booked in every possible match in this competition so far.
