Argentina – 5/1

The Messi effect is in full force here, with Argentina third favourites to score the most goals. There are certainly goals available to them in Group C with the Saudi Arabia game especially a chance for players such as Messi, Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala to really get in on the goals. 

They should comfortably get through the group, and they really could be a nation to be reckoned with in Qatar.

 

England – 11/2

This feels a bit of a long shot. While in Harry Kane the nation has one of the world’s best strikers, England have preferred to keep things tight in recent tournaments and we’d expect that again this winter.

They should find Group B comfortable, and if they start the tournament with a bang against Iran there is every chance they could challenge for the tournament’s top scorers, but Wales and the USA will be difficult games and it’ll only get tougher from there entering the knockout phase. 

 

Spain – 8/1

The Spanish have an exciting young squad, but they have it tough in the Group Stage, with Group E containing Germany, Japan and Costa Rica, none of which are walkovers. That could make it difficult for them to be among the goals and there’s every chance they could even struggle to get through the group with one bad result.

Germany are also priced at 8/1 with William Hill and with the two sides facing off against each other, we’ll know relatively early on if either are going to be contenders to win the World Cup. If they are, then there’s every chance they could also be the tournament’s top scorers.

The Argentina match against Saudi Arabia provides them with a realistic chance of scoring 5 or more goals in one game and in what looks like a favourable passage to the semi-finals, ARGENTINA could rack up the goals and land the accolade as the highest scoring team at Qatar 2022.

England are unlikely to get close to the top of the table in this stat but the Iran match could set them up nicely and France are a bit of an unknown quantity with very patchy form. Belgium were the highest scoring team at the 2018 World Cup with 16 goals ahead of finalists France and Croatia on 14.
