World Cup 2018 Group G betting tips and predictions where all eyes will be on England and Belgium. Can England pip Belgium to top spot? Or will they even qualify?

England fans will be relatively happy with the group they were given back in December. Aside from Belgium, it should be a relatively easy pathway through to the Round of 16. Both Belgium and the Three Lions are standout favourite to qualify, with Tunisia and newcomers Panama coming in at the rear. That said, England never make it easy for themselves.

The Premier League will be widely represented in this group, so it’ll be an exciting one for those watching at home and there will be plenty of talent on display.

It’s likely this group is already sewn up, but the odd upset could make World Cup Group G betting very interesting.

The Belgians haven’t really done themselves justice in major tournaments of late. Despite a plethora of the best players in the world, they were knocked out against Wales at Euro 2016 and never really shone at any point in France.

They were the first European side to wrap up qualification though and with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard to name a few in the squad they will be heavily backed to win the World Cup. Today’s best odds for Belgium to win the World Cup are 12/1 with William Hill.

From goalkeeper to striker, this squad is packed with talent and should have no problem wrapping up qualification in the early stages. They’re at 1/6 to beat Panama in the first game and 1/4 against Tunisia in their second. All the while we expect Lukaku to be banging them in and making a claim in the World Cup top scorer odds.

He’s 16/1 to pick that title up, the same as Harry Kane who he’ll go up against in the final game of the group. This will likely be the one to try and clinch top spot in Group G. They go into that game as narrow favourites at 13/8 in what will be an incredibly interesting tie. The teams will know each other well and may end up cancelling themselves out. A 1-1 draw we’d seriously fancy with this one, with Southgate’s men generally playing very tight against the bigger teams.

There’s always a lot of pressure that’s piled onto the England team ahead of the World Cup. This summer may be a little different. With a young side, of which few have experience of World Cup football, they’ll go into the tournament with a sense of freedom and little expectation.

Of course, they will be expected to qualify for the Round of 16, but it would take a serious upset for them not to. Like Belgium they will want to wrap qualification up by the end of the second game and with Harry Kane leading the line we could be in for an exciting tournament.

So many of England’s attacking players are enjoying good seasons. Raheem Sterling, Jesse Lingard and Jamie Vardy have all been irresistible this season alongside Kane and they will be a real threat going forward. As England however, they do play a little slower and we expect them to wear down the likes of Tunisia and Panama, scoring a number of late goals.

They’re 3/10 to win the first game against Tunisia, and 2/9 to seal progression against Panama. Belgium will be a tight affair and the likes of Kyle Walker will be fully aware of what De Bruyne can do. It’ll be teammates getting one over on each other all over the pitch, which will make a really fascinating game.

Whoever gets the result there will likely take top spot, although it could very well come down to goals scored. A straight forecast of Belgium/England is favourite with bookies at 5/4 and that is a contender for our World Cup 2016 Group G betting tips, while you can get England/Belgium at 2/1.
Tunisia World Cup Betting Odds
Tunisia Odds To Win Group G: 10/1

Odds To Qualify From Group G: 7/2

Tunisia have never gone beyond the group stage and have also never beaten England, so they won’t have much hope going into their first fixture against the Three Lions.

They qualified for Russia pretty comfortably, going unbeaten in their group with some pretty free flowing attacking football, although they will be expected to play a little more conservatively against the bigger boys.

Tunisia are a long shot to beat England on June 18. They’re 17/2 to win and 19/5 to draw, which probably isn’t worth too much of a punt. It’s likely they will struggle throughout and their second game against Belgium could well see them knocked out. They’re 9/1 to get the win in that one and 9/2 to draw, but the only thing that might be worth a bet is them keeping the score down.

They do have a threat in Youssef Msakni up front. He scored a number of times in World Cup 2018 qualifying and Mohamed Amine and Ben Amor are the creative strings in midfield. Keep them quiet and Tunisia really do have no chance of qualification.

Panama will go into their first World Cup tournament as a bit of an unknown quantity. They’re ranked 56th in the world and qualified in rather controversial circumstances. Even so, they are there, and the people of Panama will enjoy every minute.

Perhaps not following their first game however where they take on Belgium. They have a 14/1 shot of a win according to the bookmakers but we’ll certainly be backing a heavy Belgium win.

The same applies to the England team. The Panama squad are a relatively ageing side, many of whom play at for second tier sides or sides in their home nation. It’s likely they will tire throughout games and towards the end of the Group Stage, making them easy pickings for the likes of Kane and Sterling.

If you’re brave you can back them to beat Southgate’s men at 11/1, while a draw, just as Costa Rica managed, is at 9/2.

Their final game will likely be their last World Cup game for some time, so they’ll go in with a sense of freedom which could see them earn something against Tunisia. We wouldn’t be against a nice World Cup free bet on a Panama win here at 11/5, although they will still go into the game as huge underdogs.
