It’s a classic match-up on Thursday evening as Liverpool travel to North London to take on league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates and our football expert has picked out four selections for a 29/1 bet builder.
Arsenal are six points clear at the top of the Premier League, with 15 wins, three draws and just two defeats in 20 league matches.
Liverpool have had a more up-and-down season, losing seven straight games in all competitions between late September and late October. They’re fourth in the league with 10 wins from 20 matches.
Arsenal vs Liverpool Bet Builder Tip
Arsenal vs Liverpool Predictions
- Arsenal to win (4/7)
- Declan Rice over 0.5 shots on target (5/4)
- Florian Wirtz over 0.5 shots on target (2/1)
- Conor Bradley to be carded (2/1)
Top Bet Builder Tip – Arsenal to win (4/7)
I’m backing table toppers Arsenal to overcome Liverpool at home in this fixture. The Gunners have won eight of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions, with only two defeats in 30 competitive matches this season. Liverpool are unbeaten in eight, with four draws and four wins in that time. However, I don’t think they’ll pick up the points against Arsenal in this one.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Arsenal or draw @ 1/7
Far shorter odds, but I wouldn’t be overly surprised to see Liverpool pick up a point at the Emirates on Thursday. Taking this selection over a straight Arsenal win reduces the odds to 24/1.
Shots on Target Tip – Declan Rice over 0.5 shots on target (5/4)
Declan Rice bagged two goals last time out, in Arsenal’s 2-3 victory over Bournemouth, taking his tally to four goals for the season. In his 19 Premier League appearances this season, he has had 27 shots, with 10 of them being on target. That gives him an average of just over 0.5 shots on target per game. He likes to arrive late in the box and get a shot away, and I expect this one to be end to end. 5/4 is good odds for him to have a shot on target after his brace in his last outing.
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Florian Wirtz over 0.5 shots on target @ 2/1
Odds of 2/1 is the reason this selection is the best of the bet builder. Florian Wirtz is an exceptional attacking outlet, as we all know from his career with Bayer Leverkusen. He’s yet to quite hit those heights with Liverpool, but he’s started to show glimpses of late. He’s bagged two league goals for the Reds this season, both coming in the last two weeks. He’s had 26 shots overall, with eight on target, giving him an average just under 0.5 per game. I think 2/1 is good odds for Wirtz, a player starting to look more comfortable in front of goal, to have a shot on target.
Yellow Card Tip – Conor Bradley to be carded (2/1)
Conor Bradley is the player I think could be carded in this one. The Northern Irishman has made 16 fouls in his 14 league appearances this season, an average of more than one foul per game. He has picked up five yellow cards in the league, with a further two in the Champions League, in five appearances. He will come directly up against Leandro Trossard, who has been fouled 18 times in the league, or Gabriel Martinelli, who has been fouled nine times. I think it’ll be a tough night for Bradley and he will make several fouls. 2/1 is good odds for him to be booked.
