Key Stats — PSG vs Liverpool
- PSG have lost only two of their last 10 in all competitions, both in Ligue 1
- PSG hammered Chelsea 8-2 across two legs in the previous round — 5-2 at home and 3-0 at Stamford Bridge
- Liverpool have won only five of their last 10 in all competitions and were beaten 4-0 by Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final at the weekend
- Ousmane Dembele has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season and has six shots on target in the Champions League across seven appearances
- Hugo Ekitike has scored three in 10 Champions League appearances for Liverpool this season, with 12 shots on target — an average of more than one per game
- Dominik Szoboszlai has been booked 11 times in all competitions this season and made nine fouls in 10 Champions League appearances
PSG Form and Match Preview
PSG’s only two defeats in their last 10 have both been in the league – a 1-3 defeat to Monaco and a 3-1 loss to Rennes. The Parisian giants are four points ahead of Lens at the top of Ligue One, having played one game less.
Luis Enrique’s side arrive into this quarter final in excellent form and with enormous home confidence after dispatching Chelsea 8-2 across two legs in the previous round. The Parc des Princes will be rocking on Wednesday night, and PSG carry genuine attacking quality throughout their side — Dembele in particular has been in devastating form across all competitions this season. This is a tough ask for any visiting side, let alone a Liverpool team struggling for consistency.
Liverpool Form and Match Preview
Liverpool have had a poor season by their standards, especially after winning the league last season. Many are calling for the end of Arne Slot’s tenure as Liverpool boss, with the Reds currently in fifth, five points outside of the top four.
The timing of this fixture could hardly be worse for Liverpool. A 4-0 hammering by Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final at the weekend will have done nothing for confidence or morale, and they now travel to the Parc des Princes facing one of the most daunting atmospheres in European football. The European campaign has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season, and Slot will need a significant response from his squad on Wednesday if they are to take anything back to Anfield for the second leg.
PSG vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Liverpool travel to Paris to take on PSG in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final this Wednesday evening. The Reds come into this one with just one win in five, while PSG have only lost one in five.

- PSG to win — 3/4
- Ousmane Dembele over 1.5 shots on target — 1/1
- Hugo Ekitike over 0.5 shots on target — 8/11
- Dominik Szoboszlai to be booked — 15/4
Best Bet Builder Tip — PSG to Win — 3/4
I think PSG will come out on top fairly comfortably against Liverpool, especially in the first leg at home. They have lost only two of their last 10 in all competitions, and come into this one having hammered Premier League Chelsea 8-2 across two legs in the previous round, winning 5-2 at home and 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool have won only five of their last 10 in all competitions, and were hammered 4-0 by Man City in the quarter-final of the FA Cup at the weekend. I think PSG are good odds to win this one at home.
Ousmane Dembele Over 1.5 Shots on Target — 1/1
Ousmane Dembele is the first of two players I’m backing for shots on target in this one. I expect PSG to make a good amount of chances, and with 14 goals to his name this season, you can expect Dembele to be there or thereabouts. He has bagged 10 in Ligue 1, two in the Champions League, one in the Coupe de France and one in the Trophee des Champions. He has had six shots on target in this competition, meaning he averages just under one per game. I think his side will have a lot of the ball here, however, and 1/1 is good odds for him to have a couple of shots on target.
Alternative Bet — Ousmane Dembele to Score (6/5)
Odds of 6/5 don’t change the overall odds of the bet builder, leaving it at 25/1, but it might be safer to take him to score rather than have a couple of shots on target. He could have a poor game and still pop up with a goal, but he would have to be more involved for the shots on target. Although I think the shots on target are a good bet, you might feel better backing him for a goal.
Hugo Ekitike Over 0.5 Shots on Target — 8/11
Fellow Frenchman Hugo Ekitike is the second player I’m backing for shots on target. At odds of 8/11, I think he’s a reasonably good price to have one or more shots on target. The former Frankfurt striker has scored 17 goals in 43 appearances for Liverpool this season. In the Champions League, he’s bagged three in 10 appearances, with 12 shots on target, an average of more than one per game. I don’t think they’ll have a bucket load of chances against a strong PSG, but if they do, I think Ekitike might be the man to take them, and I think he will have at least one shot on target.
Dominik Szoboszlai to Be Booked — 15/4
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is who I’m taking for a booking in this fixture. The Hungarian has picked up 11 cards this season, with eight yellows and one red in the league, one booking in the Champions League and one in the FA Cup. In the Champions League, he has made nine fouls in 10 matches, an average just below one foul per game. I think the odds of 15/4 are generous for him to pick up a booking in this one.
