Blackpool vs Blackburn Bet Builder Tip – 5/1 Predictions for the Wednesday Clash

Blackpool predictions

Our attention turns to Bloomfield Road on Wednesday evening where Blackpool host Blackburn Rovers and we’ve got a 5/1 bet builder tip from our predictions on the match.

The hosts currently sit 13th in the Championship having won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2 of their opening six matches.

The away side are currently one point above them, sitting in 8th place having won 3 and lost 3 of their first six.

Blackpool’s recent matches have been nothing short of entertainment. They come in to this one on the back of successive 3-3 draws against Burnley and Bristol City. They’ve shown tremendous fight and character in those games, coming from behind on both occasions to salvage a point. Wolves loanee Theo Corbeanu rescued a point for them in the 90th minute against City at the weekend.

Blackburn’s recent form has been dreadful. After a fantastic start to the season, they have lost their last 3 league outings and come into this one desperately looking to find their early season form.

Their current form could be due to the transfer speculation surrounding their main man Ben Brereton-Diaz. Premier League sides Leeds, Newcastle and Everton are all chasing his signature. They’ll be wanting this transfer window to close as soon as possible with Brereton-Diaz still a Rovers player.

I’m expecting an action-packed match here and I’ve picked out a 5/1 bet builder, which includes three players to have a shot on target.

Blackpool vs Blackburn Bet Builder Tip

  • Over 2.5 goals
  • Jerry Yates 1+ shots on target
  • Josh Bowler 1+ shots on target
  • Bradley Dack 1+ shots on target

Odds – 5/1 with Bet365

Over 2.5 goals

This selection has landed in 3 of the last 5 head to heads between the two, including a 2-1 win for the home side against Rovers last season at this venue.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in 33% of Blackpool’s matches this season, and in 67% of Blackburn’s. Amazingly, it has landed in every single one of Blackburn’s away matches this term, and I’m expecting the same outcome in this one.

Jerry Yates 1+ shots on target

Blackpool’s number 9 Jerry Yates has started to hit a bit of form in the last few matches. He missed a penalty, which proved to be crucial, against Swansea City a few weeks back but he’s put that behind him and netted in his next two fixtures against Burnley and Bristol City.

He’s an energetic forward and, whilst he’s not the most prolific, I expect him to test Thomas Kaminski in the Blackburn goal on Wednesday night.

Another man I think that’ll will keep Kaminski busy is Josh Bowler. I’m a big fan of his and wouldn’t be surprised if he was to ply his trade in the top flight in the near future.

He’s also netted twice this term and I expect him to attempt to increase that tally in this match. He has a lovely left foot and will shoot from distance and in around the 18-yard area. I fancy him to get at least one on target.

Bradley Dack 1+ shots on target

My last selection is for one of Rovers forwards to have a shot on target and that comes in the form of Bradley Dack. Dack is an extremely talented player but has been so unfortunate with injuries in recent years, suffering two cruciate ligament knee injuries.

Blackburn fans will be delighted that he is back playing this season and, whilst he’s yet to find the net, he will pop up in important areas in the box and I’m certain he will score a good few goals this season.

Should Brereton-Diaz leave, he will be their main man and will be relied upon to create and take chances for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men. I’ve mentioned Blackpool’s defensive frailties; I expect Dack to take full advantage of that on Wednesday night.
