It’s another all-Premier League clash in the FA Cup this weekend as Tottenham host Aston Villa in this Third Round fixture. Villa are third in the Premier League, with Spurs down in 14th.
Spurs have won only three of their last 10 matches in all competitions, with two wins in their last 10 Premier League matches.
Villa have lost only two of their last 15 matches in all competitions, with eight wins in their last 10 matches in the Premier League.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa Bet Builder Tip
Tottenham vs Aston Villa Bet Builder Predictions
- Aston Villa to win (13/8)
- Ollie Watkins over 0.5 shots on target (8/13)
- Over 2.5 goals (10/11)
- John McGinn to be carded (11/4)
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Aston Villa to win (13/8)
Villa drew 0-0 away to Crystal Palace last time out, but were 3-1 victors over Nottingham Forest last weekend. They have won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions, with 13 wins, four draws and four defeats in their 21 league matches this season. They’ll be keen to have a long run in the cup to keep their good form going. Spurs have had a very poor season and have won only three of their last 10 in all competitions. I think Villa will come out on top in this one.
Ollie Watkins over 0.5 shots on target (8/13)
England striker Ollie Watkins has had a decent season so far for Aston Villa. In 21 Premier League appearances, he has bagged seven goals. In that time, he has had 40 shots overall, with 18 being on target. That leaves him with an average just shy of one shot on target per game. I think Villa will create chances here, and no doubt Watkins will be looking to get on the end of them. I think he will have at least one shot on target.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Ollie Watkins to score @ 15/8
15/8 is good odds for Ollie Watkins to open his FA Cup account for the season this weekend. Taking him to score increases the odds for this bet builder to 25/1 with Bet MGM.
Over 2.5 goals in the match (10/11)
Despite a 0-0 draw for Villa last time out, games involving them have seen plenty of goals this season. In their last 10, there have been over 2.5 goals on eight occasions. They’ve scored the sixth-highest number of goals in the league this season, with 33 goals in 21 outings. In Spurs’ last 10 matches, there have been over 2.5 goals in six of them. They have scored 30 and conceded 27 in the Premier League this season. I think there will be goals in this one, and 10/11 is good odds for more than 2.5 goals.
John McGinn to be carded (11/4)
I think Scotland midfielder and Villa captain John McGinn is great odds for a booking at 11/4. He never shies away from a 50/50, and no doubt he will make a foul or two this weekend. He has been carded five times this season, with three bookings in the league and two in the Europa League. He has made 30 fouls in 27 competitive matches in all competitions this season, an average of more than one foul per game. It’ll be a tough game this weekend against some physical Spurs midfielder such as Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha, and I think there’s a good chance he will pick up his sixth card of the season.
