Arne Slot’s Liverpool head to the Midlands during the week as they look to build on their 5-2 hammering of West Ham on Saturday and climb back into the top four.
Wolves have been cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League, and despite their victory over Aston Villa on Friday night, they’re still bottom of the pile on 13 points, 14 points away from safety.
Liverpool come into this one off the back of a dominant display against West Ham at the weekend, and they have won seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions. They are fifth, just three points behind Villa in fourth.
Wolves vs Liverpool Bet Builder Tip
Wolves vs Liverpool Predictions
- Over 2.5 Liverpool goals (11/8)
- Hugo Ekitike over 1.5 shots on target (11/4)
- Joao Gomes to be booked (21/10)
- Yerson Mosquera to be booked (23/10)
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Over 2.5 Liverpool goals @ 11/8
Liverpool bagged five against 18th-placed West Ham last time out, and I think they’ll score a good amount against another struggling side in Wolves on Tuesday. The Reds have scored three or more in five of their last 10 in all competitions, and have scored 47 goals in their 28 league matches so far this season. Wolves have conceded the third most goals in the league, shipping 51 goals and scoring only 20, giving them the worst goal difference in the division with -31. I fancy Liverpool to score another barrow load here.
Hugo Ekitike over 1.5 shots on target (11/4)
Hugo Ekitike has been a bright spark for Liverpool this season, and I expect him to score a good amount of goals between now and the end of the campaign. He has scored 16 goals in all competitions so far, with 11 in the league, two in the Champions League and one in each of the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Community Shield. He has had 62 shots in his 25 league appearances, with 20 of them being on target. Liverpool will have a lot of chances here, and following his goal at the weekend, he will have plenty of confidence. 11/4 is good odds for him to have a couple of shots on target.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Hugo Ekitike over 3.5 shots @ 11/8
At slightly worse odds of 11/8, you can take Ekitike to have over 3.5 shots in the game, reducing the odds of the bet to 45/1 with Bet 365. With 62 shots in the league, he averages more than two shots per game, and he will likely have a lot here against a Wolves side who are all but relegated already.
Joao Gomes to be booked (21/10)
Joao Gomes is the first of two Wolves players I think have a good chance of being carded against Liverpool here. Wolves have had the fifth most bookings in the league this season, with 63 yellow cards. Gomes has been carded nine times this season, with eight bookings in the league and one in the FA Cup. He has made a total of 54 fouls in 27 league outings, an average of more than two fouls per game. He was last carded against Bournemouth at the end of January, and I think there’s a good chance of him being carded here against a strong Liverpool midfield.
Yerson Mosquera to be booked (23/10)
The second player I’m backing for a card in this one is centre-back Yerson Mosquera. He will be in for a very difficult game, likely to spend most of it with his back to the wall against a Liverpool side firing on all cylinders. He has been carded 11 times this season, with 10 in his 20 league appearances, a card every two games on average. In those 20 league appearances, he has made 25 fouls. He was booked on Friday night against Villa, and I think there’s a great chance of him picking up another caution here.
