Jamie Carragher’s Prediction for Man City vs Liverpool

Ex-Liverpool defender and club legend Jamie Carragher has made his prediction for this weekend’s Manchester City vs Liverpool clash and he thinks it will be hard for his former club to get all three points.

Liverpool go into the match just a point behind leaders Man City following City’s thrilling 4-4 draw with Chelsea before the international break, but Carragher is worried about the Liverpool midfield against the power of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Speaking on the latest episode of Stick to Football, Carra said: “”It will be tough – the best Liverpool will get is a draw. Liverpool’s record there is poor.”

“Liverpool have the best goalkeeper in the world and they’ll definitely need him. Liverpool’s defensive record has been really good this season and Virgil van Dijk has been not too far away from his best.

“But there are still chinks in the armour with Robertson out, Trent in that midfield [role] going back to full-back, and I’m thinking of Doku coming up against him.

“Also, Liverpool defensively in midfield still haven’t really got that top class number six, so it will be difficult. The best they’ll get is a draw.”

 

Carragher Predicts a Draw in Man City v Liverpool

In the end, Carragher predicted a draw in the match but in reality, he didn’t sound confident and when host Gary Neville questioned whether he really thought it would be a draw or a Man City win, Carragher started lauging and said, “I can’t say it though”. Sticking firmly to supporting his club.
