Manchester City vs Everton: City Aim to Continue Scoring Spree at the Etihad
Manchester City return to the Etihad on Saturday looking to extend their winning run to three Premier League games when they host Everton. Pep Guardiola’s side are slowly rediscovering their best form after a dominant 1–0 win over Brentford and a 5–1 thrashing of Burnley. Despite their progress, City face a few concerns as Rodri is doubtful with a muscle issue, and Rayan Ait Nouri out with an ankle injury. Mateo Kovacic could step in for his first start of the season, while Jérémy Doku is expected to return to the XI alongside Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, who continues to lead the scoring charts.
Everton arrive on a positive note after a 2–1 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend, their first win in five matches. David Moyes’ men have shown defensive grit but remain inconsistent away from home. Injuries to Michael Keane and Jarrad Branthwaite could force changes at the back, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returns from suspension to boost midfield options.
Prediction – Man City to win
Score Prediction – Manchester City 3–0 Everton
Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth: Palace Look to Halt Cherries’ Winning Momentum
Crystal Palace are back at Selhurst Park on Saturday, looking to bounce back after a 2–1 defeat to Everton that ended their impressive six-month unbeaten run. The Eagles have been tough to beat at home and are likely to stick with a mostly unchanged lineup, even with Cheick Doucouré (knee) out and Caleb Kporha (back) doubtful. Adam Smith (hamstring) and Chadi Riad (knee) are also sidelined, while Julio Soler is away on international duty. Palace’s defence has been solid, keeping seven clean sheets in their last nine meetings with Bournemouth, and their last nine clashes with the Cherries have all stayed under 2.5 goals.
Bournemouth have been flying high lately, with a 3–1 win over Fulham keeping them in the top four. They’ve also drawn 2–2 with Leeds, held Newcastle to a goalless draw, and beaten Brighton 2–1. Injuries to Enes Ünal (cruciate) and Adam Smith (ankle) might limit their options, but Semenyo and Evanilson remain real threats in attack.
With a history of tight games between these two and Palace’s strong home defence, this one could be a cautious, close contest. Both sides will be looking for any chance to get ahead.
Prediction – Draw
Score Prediction – Crystal Palace 2–2 AFC Bournemouth
Brighton vs Newcastle: Can the Seagulls Stop the Magpies?
Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Newcastle United on Saturday for what should be a tight and exciting Premier League clash. The Seagulls have had a bit of a mixed start this season with two wins, three draws, and two defeats, but they’ve shown some sparkle lately with a 1–1 draw against Wolverhampton and an impressive 3–1 win over Chelsea. Brighton will be missing Adam Webster (knee), Jack Hinshelwood (ankle), and Solly March (knee), while Kaoru Mitoma is a doubt. On the bright side, Maxim De Cuyper could make his first start since August, adding some fresh energy to the team.
Newcastle come into the match after a 2–0 win over Nottingham Forest, but scoring away from home has been a challenge as they’ve had goalless draws against Aston Villa, Leeds, and Bournemouth. Injuries to Yoane Wissa (knee), Jacob Ramsey (ankle), and Tino Livramento (knee) mean options are limited, but Anthony Gordon and Nick Woltemade will be looking to make an impact up front. The Magpies have also been solid at the back, keeping five clean sheets in their last seven league matches.
Brighton have a strong record at home against Newcastle, remaining unbeaten in the Premier League with three wins and five draws. With Woltemade firing on all cylinders, the Seagulls look well-placed to grab at least a point. It’s likely to be a closely fought encounter, with both sides staying solid and waiting for the other to slip up.
Prediction – Newcastle to win
Score Prediction: Brighton 1–2 Newcastle
Sunderland vs Wolves: Sunderland Aim to Extend Wolves’ Winless Streak at the Stadium of Light
Sunderland will fancy their chances when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Regis Le Bris’ men have quietly gone about their business this season, sitting comfortably in mid-table and showing real defensive grit, three clean sheets in their last four games says it all. Even with a few injury worries like Noah Sadiki and Omar Alderete possibly missing out, Sunderland still look well-balanced. Daniel Neil and young Chris Rigg have been lively in midfield, while Brian Brobbey’s strength and movement up front keep defenders busy. Add in some flair from Adingra and Le Fee, and Sunderland have the tools to cause Wolves plenty of problems.
Wolves, on the other hand, are having a rough time. They haven’t won in 11 Premier League games, and confidence seems to be dipping fast. Vitor Pereira’s suspension doesn’t help, and with injuries still hanging over key players like Matt Doherty and Enso Gonzalez, the visitors will need someone to step up big time. Hugo Bueno insists their luck will turn soon but it might not be this weekend.
Sunderland are organised, in form, and playing with belief, while Wolves just can’t seem to find a rhythm. Home advantage could make all the difference here.
Prediction – Sunderland win
Score Prediction – Sunderland 2–0 Wolves
