Sunderland travel south to take on Bournemouth in the early kick-off this Saturday, as they look to get back into the top half and our betting predictions make up a 14/1 bet builder tip.
Bournemouth have had a good season and are eighth in the table, seven points outside of the top six. They are unbeaten in their last seven league matches, with only two defeats in their last 10.
Sunderland are 12th in the Premier League, with nine wins, nine draws and nine defeats from 27 matches. They have won only two of their last 10 matches in the league.
Bournemouth vs Sunderland Bet Builder Tip
Bournemouth vs Sunderland Predictions
- Bournemouth to win (4/5)
- Both teams to score (3/4)
- Evanilson over 0.5 shots on target (4/9)
- Trai Hume to be booked (13/5)
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Bournemouth to win @ 4/5
I think Bournemouth will have enough to overcome Sunderland at home this weekend. The Cherries have won four, drawn four and lost two of their last 10, and have lost only two of their last 10 matches at home in the league. They were defeated 3-2 by Sunderland the last time these sides met in late November, but the Black Cats have won only three league matches since then. Bournemouth will be looking to draw closer to the top six, and I think they’ll win this weekend.
Both teams to score (3/4)
I think Bournemouth will win, but it certainly won’t be easy. It was a high-scoring game between these two in November, and I could see a similar outcome here. Bournemouth have scored in nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions, conceding in eight of them. Sunderland have scored in seven of their last 10, conceding in eight. Both teams have scored in six of the 11 matches played between these two, dating back to August 1988, with both teams to score landing three times of the last five. I think 3/4 is good odds for this selection.
Evanilson over 0.5 shots on target (4/9)
Bournemouth’s Brazilian striker Evanilson is the man I’m backing for a shot on target in this one. The 26-year-old has bagged five goals this season, all in the Premier League. In his 25 league appearances, he has had a total of 52 shots, with 20 on target. His last goal came against Liverpool at the end of January in a 3-2 win at home. I think he’s good odds for a shot on target this weekend.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Evanilson over 1.5 shots @ 1/4
This selection doesn’t reduce the odds of this bet, so it’s a good direct swap. With 52 shots in the league this season, there’s a good chance Evanilson will have more than 1.5 shots here. Taking this selection keeps us at 14/1 for this bet builder.
Trai Hume to be booked (13/5)
Sunderland’s Trai Hume has been booked nine times in all competitions this season, and I think 13/5 is good odds for him to pick up another card on Saturday. Seven of those nine cards have been in the Premier League, in which he has made 21 fouls in 27 appearances, an average well above 0.5 fouls per match. I think Bournemouth will be on the front foot for much of this game, so he will be forced to defend, and I think there’s a good chance of him making a couple of fouls, and picking up a card.
