Chelsea are having a decent campaign in the league and find themselves back in the top four. A top-four finish and an FA Cup win would be good for them. They’re 8/1 to win the FA Cup. Brighton find themselves in 10^th place in the league and have had a very mixed season. The Seagulls are 16/1 to lift the FA Cup.

Brighton vs Chelsea Predictions

I’m backing Chelsea to win this one and advance to the next round of the cup. They’re coming into this in decent form with two wins in three, fourth in the league and just three behind Forest in third. Brighton have lost their last two, a 0-1 defeat against David Moyes’ Everton and a 7-0 hammering at the hands of the aforementioned Nottingham Forest. I think Chelsea will have too much for the Seagulls here. I think Cole Palmer will have at least one shot on target in this one. Chelsea’s main man has scored 14 league goals this season in 24 games. In that time, he has had 37 shots on target, an average of over 1.5 per match, so he’s good odds to have at least one here. Chelsea will create a good number of chances here, and I expect Palmer to be involved in a lot of them. We’ve gone for two players to be carded – Lewis Dunk and Moises Caicedo. Dunk has picked up four league bookings this season in his 19 appearances. He will be in for a physical encounter here against aggressive players in Chelsea’s front line, the likes of Nicolas Jackson, and I think he will be forced into a couple of fouls. We’re also backing Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo to be booked. He has been carded six times in the league this season in 24 appearances, making a massive 50 fouls, an average of over two per game. I have no doubt he will continue that trend and make a couple of fouls here. Both players are good odds to be carded again in this one.
