Chelsea vs Leicester bet builder tip and predictions for today’s FA Cup quarter final tie at Stamford Bridge, with a place at Wembley up for grabs for the winner.
I’m backing Chelsea to come through this
FA Cup tie against Championship opposition in Leicester City. The Blues are unbeaten in six of their last seven matches in all competitions, and progressed past Championship Leeds in the last round. Last time out, they beat Newcastle 3-2 at Stamford Bridge. I think they’ll continue their reasonably good form against Leicester here, a side with only one victory in their last five matches in the Championship. The Foxes remain top of their league table, however their current form doesn’t reflect well, and they may even have one eye on their next league fixture, as they lie just three points clear of Leeds United in second.
Chelsea vs Leicester Predictions
Despite thinking Chelsea will emerge from this quarter-final tie, I do think Leicester will get themselves on the score sheet. After all, they’re not sitting at the top of the Championship through lack of goals, and with Jamie Vardy up top, even towards the end of his career, they’ll always be a threat. You have to go back 24 games, to the 11th of November last year, to find a game where they didn’t score, and I can’t see that changing. For Chelsea, they have scored in eight of their last 10 in all competitions. I think
both teams to score is a solid bet in this one.
Both teams will be desperate to progress to the semi-final, and one step closer to a day at Wembley for the final. With that, I expect them both to be up for it from the off, with challenges flying in from the early stages of the game. Chelsea have had a minimum of three bookings in three of their last five in all competitions, including in the last round against Leeds. For the Foxes, they have picked up two or more cards in their last five, including five bookings last time out against Bournemouth.
