48/1 – Back these Three Players to get a Card this Weekend

Following his full house a couple of weeks ago, Jamie is back with three players to be booked in this weekend’s fixtures – two from the Premier League and one from La Liga.

Renato Tapia to be carded vs Mallorca – 3/1

Celta Vigo midfielder Renato Tapia has started Vigo’s last 7 games, being sent off once and committing 13 fouls in the process. Last season, he was carded 6 times despite starting only 16 games, and the season prior he was carded 10 times despite only starting 13 league games. Mallorca are a side where opposition central midfielders are consistently booked against, this is shown by an opposition central midfielder being booked in 10 of their 19 league games. In a game between both sides that sit just above the relegation zone, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a lot of fouls committed. Referee Victor García Verdura booked two Las Palmas midfielders when he officiated their meeting with Mallorca earlier this season.

 

Douglas Luiz to be carded vs Everton – 23/10

Aston Villa are a side that have picked up a lot of bookings this season, 56 in total, which is the third most in the division. In the last 5 meetings between these sides in all competitions, there have been 31 yellow cards handed out. Referee David Coote gave out 10 yellow cards and 2 red cards in the last Villa game he officiated in December, making it seem likely that this high average of bookings given in games between these two sides will continue. Aston Villa’s Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz has been booked 5 times in 19 league games this season, and has been booked in 3 of his last 5 games against Everton, including in each of the league and cup meetings with them this season.

 

Destiny Udogie to be carded vs Manchester United – 11/4

Spurs fullback Destiny Udogie has already served a suspension this season for accumulating 5 yellow cards. In total, the fullback has committed 28 fouls in 17 starts, including 3 in the reverse fixture in which he was booked when directly facing Antony, Manchester United’s second most fouled player. With Alejandro Garnacho being given his first start on the right side of the attack recently, Udogie will likely face a tougher task away from home, now potentially facing a player that has been fouled 22 times in 12 league starts. Referee John Brooks has handed out 61 cards in 12 Premier League games this season, booking Ashley Young for fouling Garnacho in November.
