Three Premier League Booking Tips for this Weekend

We have picked out three players to be carded in this weekend’s Premier League matches, starting with Wolves vs Fulham and Arsenal vs Brentford on Saturday 9th March. The last leg of the Premier League bookings tip is from the big match of the weekend and a huge match in the title race as Liverpool host Manchester City at 3.45pm on Sunday. See Jamie’s weekend booking tips below and the odds for all three players to get a card.

Joao Palhinha to be carded vs Wolves

Joao Palhinha has just returned from a two game suspension after he had received 10 bookings from 22 league appearances. This is the perfect fixture to continue that run, considering that Palhinha has been booked in both games he has played against Wolves since joining Fulham, making 6 tackles and committing 4 fouls in those two games. Opposition central midfielders are consistently booked against Wolves, and this is shown by an opposition central midfielder being booked in 11 of Wolves’ 13 home league games this season.

Sergio Reguilon to be carded vs Arsenal

On-loan Spurs fullback Sergio Reguilon has cemented his place in Brentford’s starting line-up in the absence of Rico Henry. In 10 Premier League starts this season, 6 for Brentford and 4 for Manchester United, Reguilon has picked up 4 bookings. In his last two fixtures, he has committed 4 fouls, being booked when facing highly fouled Kudus against West Ham. In this game, Reguilon directly faces one of the most fouled players in the division, Bukayo Saka. Saka has been fouled 49 times in 26 starts, with multiple opposition fullbacks being booked against him. When at Spurs, Reguilon directly faced Saka twice, picking up a booking in one of those two games. I would expect him to be committing fouls at the Emirates on the weekend.

Rodri to be carded vs Liverpool

In what is a massive game between the top two in the Premier League, Manchester City midfielder Rodri is my pick for a booking. In 17 of Liverpool’s 27 Premier League games this season, an opposition central midfielder has been carded, and in both meetings last season, Rodri was booked – making 6 tackles and committing 4 fouls across both games. Rodri has been yellow carded 7 times and sent off once in 24 league starts this season, making 50 tackles and committing 31 fouls. Referee Michael Oliver has given 74 yellow cards and 4 red cards in 18 Premier League games this season.

Odds – 28/1 with bet365 for all 3 players to be carded.
