Quick verdict: bet365 leads the list for the breadth and consistency of its cash out feature — full, partial and auto across nearly every market they cover. Betfred is the only major UK bookmaker offering “Cash Out + Bet Boost” reinvestment. Coral stands out for horse racing cash out, including the unusual ability to cash out ante-post bets. BetVictor’s set-by-set tennis cash out is the most granular live cash out feature we’ve tested. Midnite have the fastest mobile cash-out experience on the market.
What is Cash Out?
Cash out lets you settle a bet before the event finishes. The bookmaker offers you a value based on the current state of the bet — accept it and you take the money immediately rather than waiting for the final result.
The maths is straightforward. If you’ve backed a team at 4/1 with a £10 stake, the full payout if they win is £50 (£40 profit + £10 stake returned). If they’re 1-0 up at half time, the bookmaker might offer you £35 to cash out — less than the £50 full win, but guaranteed money in your account regardless of what happens in the second half.
Why bookmakers offer it: cash out is calculated on the current implied probability of your bet winning, minus a margin the bookmaker keeps. They’re paying you the present value of a future probable outcome. They make money because the sum of all customers cashing out (taking less than full value) covers their books on the matches that do play out fully.
Why punters use it:
- Lock in profit — turn a potentially winning bet into guaranteed money before late drama can take it away
- Cut losses — recover part of your stake from a bet that’s heading for a loss
- Manage risk on accumulators — when you have one leg left and the stakes are high, cashing out means you don’t have to sweat the final game
- Free up bankroll — recover stake from one bet to use on another opportunity
The trade-off is that cash-out values are always less than full payout. The bookmaker takes a margin. So consistent cashing out costs you long-term value compared to letting bets run — but on individual bets, it can absolutely be the right call.
The Three Types of Cash Out
Different bookmakers offer different types of cash out. Knowing which is which helps you pick the right account for the way you bet.
Full Cash Out
The standard option. Settle your entire bet immediately at the offered value. Once you accept, the bet is closed — you can’t change your mind, and the original outcome no longer affects you.
Available at: every bookmaker on this page.
Best for: simple “take the money and run” decisions when you want to lock in profit or cut losses cleanly.
Partial Cash Out
Take a percentage of the available cash out value while leaving the rest of the bet active. A slider lets you choose how much to settle and how much to leave running.
Example: you’ve staked £20 on a 4-fold accumulator at 12/1, and the first three legs have won. You’re being offered £80 to cash out. You partially cash out £40 (taking £40 in guaranteed profit) and let £40-worth of the bet run on the final leg. If it wins, you collect the remaining payout; if it loses, you’ve still made £40 on the day.
Available at: bet365, Betfred, Coral, BetVictor, BoyleSports, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Midnite, Virgin Bet, SBK and most major bookmakers.
Best for: accumulator punters and anyone who wants the best of both worlds — guaranteed profit plus continued upside.
Auto Cash Out
Set a target value before placing or during the bet. If the cash-out value reaches that target, the bet automatically settles without you needing to be watching.
Example: you back England to win at 3/1 with a £25 stake. You set auto cash out at £75 — a guaranteed £50 profit. If the cash out value ever hits £75 during the match, your bet settles automatically. You can go to bed, get on with your day, and not worry about missing the moment.
Available at: bet365, Betfred, Coral, Spreadex, and a smaller subset of UK bookmakers.
Best for: bettors who can’t watch every match in full, who want to lock in a specific profit target without manual intervention, or who want to remove emotion from in-play decision-making.
bet365 — Best Overall Cash Out Betting Site
Best for: Widest market coverage and full feature set.
bet365’s cash out is the benchmark in the UK market. Full, partial and auto cash out are all available, and the range of sports and markets where cash out is offered is the broadest of any UK bookmaker. Football, horse racing (rare among competitors), tennis, basketball, NFL, cricket, golf, MMA — cash out is available on most pre-match and in-play markets across the lot.
What sets bet365’s cash out apart:
- Auto cash out across all major sports — most competitors restrict auto cash out to football and tennis only
- Real-time updates — values refresh quickly during in-play, with minimal lag
- Cash out on free bet credits — bet365’s bet credits can be cashed out, which not all bookmakers allow
- My Bet section — clear interface showing live cash out values across all open bets at once
- Settlement speed — typically 5-10 seconds delay, similar to industry standard
Where bet365 falls slightly short:
- Cash out values are sometimes slightly less generous than competitors on football match result markets
- Like all bookmakers, cash out gets suspended around major in-play events (goals, red cards, late penalties)
- Betting margin built into the cash out calculation is consistent with the rest of bet365’s pricing — fair but not market-leading

Betfred — Best Cash Out + Bet Boost Combo
Best for: Punters who want to reinvest cashed-out winnings.
Betfred offers the standard full, partial and auto cash out across a wide range of sports — but the standout feature is Cash Out + Bet Boost. You can take your cash out value and immediately reinvest it into a new bet at boosted odds, rather than just taking the money.
How it works in practice:
You’ve staked £10 on a Premier League side at 5/1. They go 1-0 up at half time. Cash out value is £35. Standard cash out: take the £35 and the bet ends. Cash Out + Bet Boost: instead of taking the £35 cash, you reinvest it into a new selection at boosted odds — typically 10-20% better than the standard market price.
The trade-off:
- Pro: a 15% boost on your cashed-out stake represents genuine extra value over time
- Con: you’re staying in action rather than locking in profit — the cashed-out money is no longer guaranteed
Other Betfred cash out features:
- Multiple auto cash out trigger points — set different levels of automatic settlement based on different outcomes
- Cash out on bet builder selections
- Fast settlement processing (typically under 10 seconds)
For more on Betfred’s features, see our Betfred review. Current welcome offer is Bet £10 Get £50 in Free Bets using promo code BETFRED50 — the biggest welcome offer in the UK.
Coral — Best for Horse Racing Cash Out
Best for: Racing punters and combination bet players.
Coral were one of the first UK bookmakers to roll out partial cash out, and their feature set has stayed ahead of competitors specifically on horse racing. Full, partial and auto cash out are all available — but the standout features are racing-specific.
Coral’s racing cash out specifics:
- Cash out on ante-post bets — almost unique in the UK market. You can take a price on a horse for the Cheltenham Gold Cup six months out, then cash out the bet as the race approaches and the price shortens
- Cash out on combination bets — Lucky 15s, Yankees and other multi-leg bets can be cashed out before the off on every leg
- Cash out on price boosts — Coral allows cash out on bets placed at boosted prices, which most rivals exclude
- Strong live streaming integrated with cash-out decisions
The wider Coral product:
- Full UK and Irish racing coverage
- Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Irish races
- Strong app with one-tap cash out
- High-street betting shop integration if you bet retail too
For racing-specific tips that pair well with Coral’s cash out, see our NAP of the Day, Lucky 15 Tips and ITV Racing Tips. For a full Coral breakdown, see our Coral review. Welcome offer is Bet £5 Get £30 in Free Bets.
BetVictor — Best for Tennis Cash Out
Best for: Live tennis betting and granular in-play cash out.
BetVictor’s tennis cash out is the most granular we’ve tested. The platform allows set-by-set and game-by-game cash out values during live matches, with values updating between points in the fastest matches. For anyone who bets tennis live, this is genuinely a different product from competitors who offer one cash out value per match.
Why tennis benefits from BetVictor’s approach:
Tennis is the sport where cash out values can swing the most dramatically over short time periods. A break of serve in the second set can completely transform the cash out value of a pre-match favourite bet. BetVictor’s pricing engine updates fast enough to reflect these swings — most rival bookmakers lag, meaning you’re either getting a cash out value that’s already out of date or finding the option suspended.
Other BetVictor cash out features:
- Full and partial cash out across most football, racing and major sport markets
- Cash out on multiples and accumulators
- Quick settlement — typically under 10 seconds delay
Where BetVictor falls short:
- No auto cash out option
- Cash out values on football can be slightly less competitive than bet365 or Betfred
For a fuller view of BetVictor’s product, see our BetVictor review. Welcome offer is Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets — no promo code required.
BoyleSports — Best for Wide Market Coverage
Best for: Bettors who want cash out across niche sports including GAA, snooker and darts.
BoyleSports’ cash out feature covers an unusually wide range of sports — including markets that many UK bookmakers don’t offer cash out on at all. Full and partial cash out are both available, and the BoyleSports app updates cash out values quickly during in-play.
BoyleSports cash out coverage includes:
- Football (Premier League, Championship, European leagues, internationals)
- Horse racing (UK, Irish and selected international meetings)
- Tennis (ATP, WTA, Grand Slams)
- GAA — cash out on Gaelic football and hurling, rarely offered by UK competitors
- Snooker, darts (PDC and BDO events)
- Cricket (Test, ODI, T20)
- Rugby Union and Rugby League
The Irish heritage shows in the GAA coverage — BoyleSports were originally an Irish high-street bookmaker and the feature set still reflects that. If you bet on Gaelic sports, BoyleSports is one of the few UK-licensed bookmakers that offers cash out on those markets.
Where BoyleSports falls short:
- No auto cash out
- App rated 3.6 stars on the App Store (below bet365 and Midnite)
For a full BoyleSports breakdown, see our BoyleSports review. Welcome offer is Bet £10 Get £40 in Free Bets — second-biggest UK welcome offer at this stake tier.
William Hill — “Cash In” Traditional Operator
Best for: Traditional bettors and high-street brand familiarity.
William Hill brand their cash out feature as Cash In rather than Cash Out, but the function is the same. Full and partial cash out are available across most major sports markets, with the feature integrated into both the app and the website’s My Bets section.
The William Hill cash out feature is solid rather than spectacular — it does what it says, settles within 5-10 seconds, and works across football, racing, tennis, golf and the major sports. The brand’s age (founded 1934) gives it familiarity that newer competitors don’t have, and the Plus Card integration with retail betting shops means you can place a bet in-shop and cash it out online.
Where William Hill falls short:
- No auto cash out
- Some niche markets and lower-league football don’t have cash out enabled
- Cash In values are competitive but not market-leading
For a fuller breakdown, see our William Hill review. Welcome offer is Bet £10 Get £40 in Free Bets.
Other Notable Cash Out Bookmakers
Ladbrokes — full and partial cash out across major sports, with The Grid Card integration for retail shop integration. Solid all-round option, similar in feature set to William Hill (the two brands share a parent company in Entain).
Midnite — full and partial cash out with the fastest mobile experience we’ve tested. The 4.7-star app rating means cash out actions are typically one tap away from any open bet view. No auto cash out, but the app is so quick that manual cash out feels almost as fast.
Virgin Bet — full and partial cash out across major sports, plus the unusual feature of cash out on free bets. If you’ve used a free bet credit and want to lock in profit before the bet settles, Virgin Bet allow it where most competitors don’t.
SBK — Smarkets-powered exchange backbone gives SBK sharp cash-out pricing on liquid markets. Full and partial cash out available, with values that are often slightly more generous on football markets than corporate competitors because the underlying exchange has tighter pricing.
Cash Out by Sport — Where Each Bookmaker Excels
Different bookmakers handle different sports better. Quick guide based on actual cash-out testing across the major UK markets.
Football Cash Out
Best: bet365, Betfred. Both offer auto cash out and full/partial across every Premier League and Champions League match. bet365’s market depth (200+ markets per Premier League fixture) means more bets are eligible for cash out than at any competitor.
For our daily football tips that pair with cash out strategies, see our football tips, bet builder tips, accumulator tips and bet of the day.
Horse Racing Cash Out
Best: Coral, bet365. Coral’s ante-post cash out is unique in the UK market. bet365 offers cash out on a wider range of race markets than most competitors — including international races where many UK bookmakers don’t enable the feature.
See our Best Horse Racing Betting Sites guide for racing-focused bookmaker comparisons.
Tennis Cash Out
Best: BetVictor, bet365. BetVictor’s set-by-set granularity is unmatched. bet365’s auto cash out works well for tennis where sudden momentum swings can hit your target value mid-set.
Accumulator Cash Out
Best: Betfred (with Cash Out + Bet Boost), bet365 (auto cash out across all legs).
For an accumulator strategy that pairs with cash out, see our football accumulator tips.
Bet Builder Cash Out
Best: bet365, Betfred. Cash out on bet builders is increasingly standard, but the values offered vary significantly between bookmakers. bet365 and Betfred both offer cash out on most bet builder selections; some smaller bookmakers exclude bet builders from cash out entirely.
For our daily bet builder selections, see our bet builder tips.
How to Cash Out — Step by Step
The process is similar across all UK bookmakers:
- Place a bet that’s eligible for cash out. Most pre-match singles, accumulators and selected bet builders are. The bookmaker indicates eligibility before you place the bet
- Once the event starts (or sometimes before), open the My Bets / Bet History section. You’ll see the cash out value alongside your bet
- Click Cash Out to settle for the offered value, or click the slider for partial cash out, or set a target for auto cash out (where available)
- Confirm — there’s typically a 5-10 second delay during which the bookmaker re-checks the cash out value against the live odds. If the value has moved significantly, the cash out may be rejected and you’ll need to confirm again
- Money credited to your account — instantly cashable or stakeable on a new bet
When You Cannot Cash Out
Cash out isn’t available on every bet. Common reasons it’s blocked:
- Free bet rules at some bookmakers — many bookmakers won’t let you cash out a bet placed using a free bet credit until the cash out value exceeds the free bet stake
- Market suspension during in-play moments — when something major happens (goal, red card, penalty), cash out is paused for 30-60 seconds while the bookmaker recalculates
- Specific market exclusions — ante-post bets at most bookmakers, futures bets at some, niche markets at others
- Promotional bet types — bets placed under specific promotions (e.g. price boosts at most bookmakers, though Coral are an exception)
- Technical issues — occasional cash out outages happen across all platforms; if cash out is unexpectedly unavailable, contact customer service
If a specific market doesn’t show a cash out option, check the bookmaker’s terms — coverage varies considerably.
Cash Out FAQs
What is the best cash-out betting site in the UK?
bet365 is the best UK cash-out betting site for 2026. They offer full, partial and auto cash out across the widest range of sports and markets, with consistently fair settlement values. Betfred is the strongest alternative, particularly for the Cash Out + Bet Boost reinvestment feature.
What’s the difference between full, partial and auto cash out?
Full cash out settles the entire bet immediately at the offered value. Partial cash out lets you take a percentage of the cash out value and leave the rest of the bet running — useful for accumulators where you want to lock in profit on the legs already won. Auto cash out automatically settles the bet when the cash out value hits a target you set in advance — useful when you can’t watch the match live.
Why is the cash-out value less than the full payout?
Bookmakers calculate cash out as the present value of your bet’s probable outcome, minus a margin. The margin is how they make money on the cash out feature — over time, the sum of cashed-out bets pays them more than letting bets run to natural settlement. On individual bets, cashing out can absolutely be the right call, but consistent cashing out costs you long-term value.
Can I cash out a free bet?
It depends on the bookmaker. Most UK bookmakers don’t allow cash out on bets placed using free bet credits, at least until the cash out value exceeds the free bet stake. Virgin Bet and a small number of other bookmakers allow cash out on free bets without restriction.
Why is my cash-out value changing?
Cash out values update in real time based on the live event. A goal, red card, penalty, key injury or even a shift in match momentum can dramatically change the cash out offered. Bookmakers also impose a short suspension (typically 30-60 seconds) immediately after major events while they recalculate.
Why was my cash out rejected?
The most common reasons:
- Value moved during the 5-10 second confirmation delay — the cash out value changed before you confirmed, so the system asks you to confirm again at the new value
- Market suspended — a goal, red card or other event caused the market to suspend mid-confirmation
- Technical issue — occasional platform glitches, particularly at peak times
If a cash out is repeatedly rejected, contact the bookmaker’s customer service.
Can I cash out an ante-post bet?
Most UK bookmakers don’t allow cash out on ante-post bets — bets placed weeks or months before an event. Coral are the major exception, allowing cash out on ante-post horse racing bets, including Cheltenham Festival markets.
Do all bookmakers offer auto cash out?
No. Auto cash out is offered by bet365, Betfred, Coral, Spreadex and a small subset of UK bookmakers. Most major operators (William Hill, Ladbrokes, BetVictor, BoyleSports, Midnite) offer full and partial cash out, but not auto cash out.
Is cash out available on accumulators?
Yes — at almost every UK bookmaker on this page. Cash out values on accumulators can move dramatically as legs win or lose, which is why partial cash out is particularly popular for accas. You can take some profit when most legs have won and let the final leg run for the full upside.
For accumulator strategy, see our football accumulator tips.
Is cash out available on bet builders?
Mostly yes, but not universally. bet365, Betfred, BoyleSports, Coral and Ladbrokes all offer cash out on bet builders. Some smaller bookmakers exclude bet builders from cash out entirely. Always check before placing the bet if cash out is important to you.
For bet builder strategy, see our bet builder tips.
Should I cash out or let the bet run?
Depends on the bet, the situation and your risk appetite. As a general rule:
- Cash out when the offered value is meaningfully high relative to your stake, the remaining time/legs carry significant risk, and you’d rather have guaranteed money than a chance at slightly more
- Let it run when the offered value seems low compared to the win probability, the bet is well on track, and the remaining risk is small relative to the upside
Long-term, consistent cashing out costs you expected value because of the bookmaker’s margin. But short-term, on individual bets, cash out can absolutely be the right call.
Does cash out work on the betting shop?
Yes — increasingly. Coral, Ladbrokes, William Hill and BoyleSports all allow you to cash out a bet placed in a high-street shop using their app, provided you’ve linked the shop bet to your online account. The shop slip needs to be scanned through the app or registered to a Connect/Plus/Grid card.
