West Ham vs Arsenal bet builder tips and predictions for the Premier League fixture on Sunday 10th May, including a team to win bet, total goals in the match and a player to be carded.
Arsenal travel across the city to meet West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Gunners are five points clear of Man City, despite having played a game more prior to City’s game today (Saturday). West Ham are facing the drop, and currently sit 18th in the league, one point behind Spurs.
Arsenal have lost four of their last 10 matches in all competitions, winning four and drawing two. Despite that, they have lost only two of their last 10 in the Premier League.
West Ham have won only three of their last 10 in the Premier League, drawing four and losing three in the process. It’s not the worst run, but they need to start picking up points if they are to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Arsenal v West Ham Bet Builder Tip
Arsenal to win (8/13)
Arsenal come into this one following a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid, which seen them advance to the Champions League final with a 2-1 victory on aggregate. They are in pole position at the top of the Premier League, and I think it’s likely they’ll maintain momentum this weekend as they face relegation strugglers West Ham away from home. They’ve won two on the bounce in the league, and have beat West Ham already this season – a 2-0 victory at the Emirates back in October. Given both sides league positions, I think Arsenal will be comfortable here, and I expect them to come away with all three points.
Both teams to score – no (11/10)
Arsenal have conceded the fewest goals in the league this season, with only 26 in their 35 Premier League matches. In their last 10 in the league, they’ve conceded only nine goals, keeping a clean sheet on four occasions. Only four teams have scored fewer goals than West Ham in the league this season, with the Hammers scoring only 42 goals so far. They have failed to score in four of their last 10 in the league, and failed to score the last time they played Arsenal. I think Arsenal will keep another clean sheet on Sunday.
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Under 2.5 goals in the match @ 6/5
Arsenal are defensively solid and play a strong, possession-based style of football, which makes it hard for the opposition to create a lot of chances. Many in the media have labelled their style boring, but there’s no doubt it helps them keep the ball out of their net. In their last 10 in all competitions, there has been under 2.5 goals in six of them. In the league, there has been fewer than 2.5 goals in four of their last 10 matches. Arsenal have conceded only one goal in their last four matches, scoring only one goal in three of them. I think under 2.5 goals is a great bet here at odds of 6/5.
Tomas Soucek to be booked (15/4)
I think West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek is decent odds to be booked at 15/4. The Czech Republic international has been carded six times in all competitions this season, with three yellows and one red card in the Premier League, and a booking in each of the FA Cup and EFL Trophy, in which he featured for West Ham under-23s. In his 32 league appearances so far, he has made a total of 34 fouls, giving him an average of more than one foul per game. With Arsenal’s dominant style, I reckon he will make a foul or two here, and there’s a good chance of him being carded.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Tomas Soucek over 0.5 fouls @ 2/7
Given he averages more than one foul per game, a safe bet would be to take Soucek to have one or more fouls at 2/7. Given the short odds, this reduces the odds of this bet builder to 5/1 with Bet 365, but it’s a safe selection.
