Aston Villa vs Chelsea Bet Builder Tips – 10/1 Punt for the Super Sunday Clash

Aston Villa betting tips

Aston Villa vs Chelsea bet builder tips and predictions for the first match on Super Sunday this weekend. There are five games in the Premier League today but only two on TV, starting with Villa vs Chelsea.

Steven Gerrard is still a man under pressure after the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Monday night and things don’t get any easier when Chelsea visit Villa Park.

Chelsea picked up a good win in the Champions League in midweek and that’s taken them to four straight wins, with a clean sheet in their last three.

When the two sides last met in Premier League action, Chelsea triumphed 3-1 at Villa Park last season. Jorginho led the Blues with two goals, scoring in the 34th and 93rd minute. Romelu Lukaku also was on the scoresheet. Aston Villa’s only goal came courtesy of the Blues’ Reece James putting the ball in his own net.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to score

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is a well-known threat to the opposition and has had a good start to his career in the blue of Chelsea. The Gabonese striker joined from Barcelona in the summer, and has hit good goal scoring form in his opening five games. He has bagged three goals already, two coming in the Champions League against AC Milan, with the other coming against Crystal Palace in a 2-1 victory in the Premier League. He averages 2.35 shots per game, with 1.17 being on target, adding substance to the decision to take him as a goal scorer on this bet. Chelsea are fourth in the table, with Villa struggling towards the bottom, so they will get chances and Aubameyang could be the man to take at least one of them.

John McGinn to be booked

John McGinn is well known for having his name taken by the referee, and he is continuing to live up to his reputation this season. The Scotsman has picked up three yellow cards already this season, and I’m taking him to pick up another one in this one as Villa welcome Graham Potter’s Chelsea. The midfielder averages 1.70 fouls per game, and with Villa expected to be on the back foot for much of this one, he will be likely to commit at least a couple of fouls here. He has made 14 fouls this season, and his tackle success rate is 69%. He will be dealing with the likes of Raheem Sterling, who is fouled an average of 1.44 times per game. I think McGinn is excellent value for a card and this bet builder has a good chance of landing.
