Luton vs Sheffield United Bet Builder Tips – An 11/2 Prediction for Friday’s Championship Clash

Luton betting tips

Another weekend of Championship football is almost upon us, and we kick off proceedings at Kenilworth Road where Luton Town take on Sheffield United under the lights.

The home side picked up their first win of the campaign last weekend, beating Swansea City 2-0 in South Wales. That win will be very welcoming for last year’s play-off semi-finalists, who haven’t quite hit the ground running yet this term. They currently sit 18th in the table and just two points above the drop zone.

The visitors on the other hand have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and currently sit top of the pile as we head into game week six. I tipped them for promotion this term, and knew that they would make Bramall Lane a fortress. They’ve won all three league matches there so far in convincing fashion, but are yet to win on the road. I think that will change on Friday night.

I’ve picked out a simple 11/2 Bet Builder which I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t land.

Sheffield United to win

As mentioned above, whilst the away side are yet to win on their travels, I do expect them to take all three points back to Yorkshire on Friday evening.

They’ve been televised a few times already this year and I’ve been really impressed with them. Manager Paul Heckingbottom knows how to get a tune out of The Bladesmen, and I think they’ll have too much strength for The Hatters this time around.

You can’t look at recent head-to-heads between the two for any clues, simply because they’ve only faced off in twice in the last 16 years. Sheffield United took a point back home last term; I can see them going one better this time.

Luton will be full of confidence having picked up their first win last Saturday, however I thought that they might struggle this year following last year’s disappointment and I think they’ll find opposition like Sheffield United too strong to cope with.

Iliman Ndiaye to have 1+ shots on target

If The Blades are to win, I’m backing Ndiaye and Berge to be the men to cause Luton the most problems.

I’m a massive fan of Ndiaye’s, check out his wonderful solo goal against Blackburn Rovers on the weekend and you’ll understand why. He started that game on the bench which underlies United’s strength in depth, but I expect him to be back in the starting line-up on Friday after scoring two after coming on and fancy his chances to add to his three league goals this campaign.

Sander Berge both to have 1+ shots on target

My other selection to get a shot on target is powerhouse midfielder Berge. He’s a box-to-box midfielder who likes to shoot from range and I think he will do so in this match. He’s picked up two league goals already, an impressive return at this stage for a midfielder, and I expect him to at least test Luton’s keeper in this one.
