Manchester City welcome Nottingham Forest to the Etihad on Wednesday evening as they look to close the gap on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League. They’re five points behind the Gunners with a game in hand.
Man City have won 18, drawn five and lost five of their 28 league matches so far this season. They’ve won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions, drawing one and losing one.
Nottingham Forest have won seven, drawn six and lost 15 so far this season. They’re 17th in the league, just two points outside of the relegation zone after 28 games.
Man City vs Nottingham Forest Bet Builder Tip
Man City vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- Man City over 2.5 goals (4/7)
- Omar Marmoush over 0.5 shots on target (11/20)
- Antoine Semenyo over 0.5 shots on target (1/2)
- Elliot Anderson to be booked (17/5)
BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Man City over 2.5 goals @ 4/7
4/7 isn’t the highest of odds, but I expect City to score a good amount against relegation battlers Forest at the Etihad on Wednesday evening. Pep Guardiola’s side are second in the league, five behind Arsenal with a game in hand. They’ve scored 57 goals in the league, second only to Arsenal. They’ve scored two or more goals in eight of their last 10 matches. Forest have conceded 41 this season, and I think they’ll ship a good few against City in this one.
Omar Marmoush over 0.5 shots on target (11/20)
Omar Marmoush is the first of two City players I think will have a shot on target here. He has scored only one league goal this season, with another three in his two Carabao Cup appearances. City manager Guardiola is unsure if their star man Erling Haaland will return for this one, so Marmoush should be given the nod once more, and he’s a handful for defenders. His last goal game against Newcastle a month ago, when he scored a brace in the Carabao Cup semi-final. Should he feature again here, I think there’s a good chance he will have one or more shots on target.
Antoine Semenyo over 0.5 shots on target (1/2)
Former Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has impressed for Man City since joining in January, and he has scored six goals in 11 appearances since making the switch. That takes him to 16 goals for the season in all competitions. In the league, he has had 35 shots on target in 27 matches, giving him an average of well above 0.5 shots on target per game. He scored against Leeds last time out, which was the only goal in a 1-0 victory for his side. I think he will have at least one shot on target here against Forest.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Antoine Semenyo to score @ 6/4
Taking Semenyo to score his second goal in as many games is decent odds at 6/4. If you fancy him for a goal, swapping these selections takes this bet builder to odds of 18/1 with Bet MGM.
Elliot Anderson to be booked (17/5)
Midfielder Elliot Anderson is known for getting stuck in and showing his physicality. He has been carded eight times in all competitions this season, with five bookings in the Premier League and three in the Europa League. He has made 42 fouls in his 28 league appearances, giving him an average of exactly 1.5 fouls per game. He will be in for a difficult game here against the likes of Bernardo Silva, Nico O’Reilly and Rayan Cherki, and I think he will make several fouls against them. He’s good odds for a foul at 17/5.
