11/1 Norwich vs Millwall Bet Builder Tips: Three Predictions for Friday’s Championship Clash

Norwich predictions

Friday night football is back, and we head to East Anglia where Norwich take on Millwall at Carrow Road where we have picked out our Norwich City vs Millwall bet builder tip. Both of these sides played on Tuesday evening, so we may well see some changes in both line-ups.

Norwich recorded their first win of the season, beating Huddersfield 2-1 in front of their home fans. That will give Dean Smith’s men the world of confidence, having only had one point on the board in their first three games, things are now looking better for The Canaries as they sit in 17th place in the Championship.

Millwall won’t be short of confidence themselves after dramatically securing a point away to Swansea City in a 2-2 draw, where two Swansea defenders scored injury time own-goals. Millwall were fortunate to come away with anything, but that point sees them with seven points from their first four matches as they occupy 5th place in the table.

I’ve picked out an 11/1 Bet Builder tip for this one which looks overpriced to me.

Norwich to win

I think that, now Norwich have got their first win of the season under their belts, they will really kick on and prove why they were the pre-season favourites to win the league. They’re unbeaten at home this term, and will look back in frustration that they didn’t win both home games after seeing a clear penalty denied a few weeks ago against Wigan Athletic.

They brushed aside Huddersfield on Tuesday and that will be the confidence booster that their players, manager and fans would have wanted.

Millwall are a tough side to beat, their never-say-die attitude is one that all teams would love to see, but I do think Norwich will be the superior side on Friday evening.

You have to look back to November 1968 since Millwall won in Norwich’s backyard, I can’t see that changing this year.

Half time result Norwich – Full-time result Norwich

To keep it simple, with this selection you’re looking for Norwich to be leading at half time and again at full time.

My reason for this Championship betting tip is also simple, Norwich flew out of the blocks on Tuesday and rushed into a 2-0 lead within 16 minutes.

In contrasting fashion, Millwall found themselves 2-0 down at the break against Swansea. That wasn’t the first time that’s happened this term, they were 2-0 down against Coventry after 28 minutes, and the same applies to the week before that where they were 2-0 down against Sheffield United after 22 minutes. There’s a trend emerging, and that’s that it takes Millwall time to find their feet in matches and often needing to come from behind to salvage points.

I can see the same happening here, and expect Norwich to be ahead at the interval and at the final whistle.

Over 6 corners in the match for Norwich

I’m backing the home side to be dominant in this one and expect corners to be aplenty for them. This season they have averaged 9 corners a game, their most coming in their 2-1 away defeat to Hull where they had 11 corners.

I expect them to have most of the ball, dictate play and attack the flanks which will result in crosses being put into the box which could easily be deflected behind for a corner.

To clarify, for this selection to win Norwich will need to have 7 corners or more. That has happened in every one of their league fixtures this term, I can see it being the case once more.
