Scotland to win the first half

There’s not an awful lot of value in this game, with Scotland very much firm favourites to win. That’s why I’ve opted to take them to win the first half. Steve Clark’s side have a far superior squad to Cyprus and should win this one more than comfortably, and I expect them to be leading at the break. Scotland have won have won their last three fixtures on home turf, with a 2-0 win over Armenia, a 3-0 win over Ukraine and a 2-1 win over Ireland. In the Armenia game, they were winning 2-0 at half time. Against Ireland, they overcame a one goal deficit to win 2-1, and against Ukraine all three goals came in the second half. Despite this, I think they will be too strong for Cyprus straight from the off, and I think it’s a good bet for them to be leading at the interval.

Lyndon Dykes to score

One of Scotland’s main men is Australia born striker Lyndon Dykes. The QPR man has come up trumps on more occasion than one for the Tartan Army in recent years, and I’m backing him to help them to victory in this one as well. The 27-year-old has six Championship goals to his name this season for the Loftus Road side, with his last coming in a 1-2 defeat against Huddersfield. For Scotland, Dykes last goal came against Ukraine when he scored two in the last 10 minutes to help his side to a 3-0 victory. He will have a good amount  of chances in this one and I think he will bury at least one.

Ryan Christie over 0.5 shots on target

Ryan Christie has a good record of scoring for Scotland, and is known for taking a shot from range at times. The Bournemouth man has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season. However, for Scotland, he’s scored on a more frequent basis, getting in to dangerous areas in the dark blue of his country. His last goal came against Ireland, scoring the winning goal with a penalty, and the fact he takes penalties heightens his chance of a shot on target. He will have a good amount of the ball here, and I think he will get at least one shot on target.
