The Five Best Pundits & Reporters To Follow At This Year’s World Cup

Football pundits on Twitter

The World Cup is almost upon us and dozens of pundits are signed up to cover the competition through work on TV, online and offering up their betting tips.

As always, it’ll be hugely bet on and here at That’s A Goal we have our own World Cup hub, offering tips on everything from Top Scorer odds to game by game previews, and even the best free bets to sign-up to and enjoy.

Of course, you won’t just want to take our word for it though, you’ll want to know what former players, journalists and other football experts will have to say too.

We always keep our eyes out for expert opinion from around the world too, and there are already a number of names discussing their thoughts on the World Cup. But who are the people we should be following?

Michael Owen

Michael Owen is one of the UK’s premier experts when it comes to betting predictions and as always he’ll be offering his thoughts on upcoming games through his ambassadorial role at BetVictor.

Most frequently you’ll find him offering tips on the correct score market, but they can vary and you’d be surprised by how good he is at his predictions.

We’d expect predictions for every England and Wales game, as well as the bigger games across the Group Stage and into the knockouts.

Fabrizio Romano

Well-known for his transfer rumours, Fabrizio Romano will be a man to follow on social media for all the latest team news and updates ahead of and during the World Cup. While he can’t directly influence your betting, he’s the perfect follow for staying informed on everything that is going on at Qatar 2022, often bringing injury news and any bust-ups first.

And if you can get the news from the person first on the scene, then the better odds you’re going to get on any bets of the back of it.

Ben Jacobs

Similarly, you aren’t going to get betting tips, but you are going to get all the latest news as it breaks. The CBS Sports journalist is always quick to break news and offers detailed and investigative views on what’s going on, which will be hugely important when it comes to knowing team news and betting on any specific outcomes that could be hampered by certain players missing.

Paul Merson

If you’re looking for some Merse-style punditry, then why not get it from the horse’s mouth. He regularly makes predictions on Premier League games for Sportskeeda and will no doubt be filling his regular column with all things World Cup over the coming month.

He’s a man who provides honest opinions and knows the game inside out – which is always what you need as a football fan.

Jamie Carragher

We all love listening to Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football and when it comes to insight on England over social media, he’s going to be one of the go-tos. He’s already been active on who he believes will be in the squad, how well he thinks England will do and much more, and he’ll be consistently commenting on everything at the World Cup across the winter.

Carra is never out of the news with his opinions on all things football, and unlike his counterpart Gary Neville, you won’t have to sift through the politics to find them!
