HighBet is a UKGC-licensed sportsbook with one of the more generous welcome offers on the market and a football book that stands up well against far bigger names. £30 in free bets from a £10 stake is strong value, and while it lacks a few of the features the market leaders offer, it works well as a second account for football punters.

Is HighBet Safe and Legit?
Yes. HighBet.co.uk is operated by SCGO Limited, licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 44662. Your deposits sit under UKGC rules, the site runs mandatory age and identity verification, and it is bound by the same responsible gambling conditions as bet365 or Betfred. You can check the licence yourself on the Gambling Commission’s public register using the link above — we’d encourage you to do that with any bookmaker before you deposit.
SCGO Limited is registered in Malta under company number C45929, with a registered address at Luxe Pavilion, 2nd Level, Diamonds International Building, Portomaso, St Julian’s STJ 4010, Malta. A Maltese registration is completely standard for UK-facing operators and doesn’t affect your protections — what matters is the UKGC licence, which covers everything HighBet offers to British customers.
One point of clarification, because it causes confusion. HighBet first launched in 2021 under a different operator and relaunched in early 2025 under SCGO Limited on the BetConstruct platform. Older reviews of HighBet elsewhere online describe the previous business — a different licence number, a different parent company, and deposit processing fees that no longer exist. If you come across those, they’re out of date.
The relaunch fixed some real problems — the deposit fees the old HighBet charged are gone, the payment options are cleaner, and customer support has improved. The flip side is that HighBet in its current form has only been running for around 18 months, so it doesn’t yet have the long track record that a bet365 or a Betfred can point to.
One thing worth knowing: HighBet’s scores on independent review platforms are on the low side, with some customers raising queries about promotion terms. Read those numbers with some perspective — bookmaker review scores skew heavily negative across the board, and even bet365, the biggest and most established operator in the UK, sits at around 1.3 out of 5 on Trustpilot. That’s the nature of the industry rather than a HighBet-specific problem. As with any newer bookmaker, the sensible approach is to read the offer terms properly before you opt in, and withdraw winnings rather than leaving a balance sitting there. That’s advice I’d give for any account, not just this one.
What Is the HighBet Sign-Up Offer?
New UK customers who bet £10 at odds of 1/1 or bigger get £30 in free bets. There is no promo code — you just need to opt in during registration and place the qualifying bet within seven days.
The £30 arrives as three separate £10 tokens rather than one lump sum:
- £10 horse racing free bet — use on any race
- £10 football accumulator free bet — requires a multiple, not a single
- £10 basketball accumulator free bet — again, a multiple
£30 back from a £10 stake is a 300% return, which sits at the generous end of the UK market and beats the headline value at bet365, BetVictor and Midnite. The three-way split is worth understanding before you claim: you get the full £30 by spreading it across racing, a football acca and a basketball acca, so it suits a punter who bets more than one sport.
If you only ever bet football, a bookmaker like Betfred gives you more freedom over where the free bets go. If you’re happy to have a go at a racing bet and a basketball multiple, HighBet’s £30 is among the better-value offers you’ll find for a £10 stake.
Full terms, worked examples and the seven-day expiry rules are on our dedicated HighBet sign-up offer page.
What Existing-Customer Offers Does HighBet Run?
Two, both football-focused:
- Acca Boost — a percentage uplift on winning accumulators, scaling with the number of legs
- Weekend Cashback — a refund on qualifying losing bets over the weekend
Both are useful if you’re an acca player, and the Acca Boost in particular is worth having on a Saturday multiple. The promotions list is shorter than you’ll find at the biggest UK books, though — there’s no Best Odds Guaranteed, no extra places on racing and no regular price boost schedule. If ongoing offers are what keep you loyal to a bookmaker, this is the area where HighBet has the most ground to make up.
What Sports and Markets Does HighBet Cover?
HighBet covers around 40 sports, including esports, with football as its clear strength.
Football is where the book is genuinely competitive. Coverage runs well beyond the obvious leagues into smaller European and South American divisions, in-play is solid, and there are typically 100–200 markets on a well-attended fixture. The betting margin on football sits at roughly 6.25%, which is in line with what most UK books charge — you are not being gouged.
Horse racing is the area with the most room for improvement. Racing wasn’t available at relaunch and has since been added, but the coverage isn’t as complete as the racing-first bookmakers, and there is no Best Odds Guaranteed. That matters if you like to take an early price — over a season, BOG is worth more to a regular racing punter than most welcome offers. Your £10 racing free bet is still perfectly usable here, but if racing is your main game it’s worth having a BOG account alongside it. Our guide to Best Odds Guaranteed explains why and covers which books offer it.
Basketball, ice hockey, cricket and tennis are all covered better than you would expect from a book this size, with deep league coverage well outside the headline competitions. Given one of your free bet tokens is a basketball acca, that is convenient.
Bet builder exists and functions, but the market menu behind it is shallower than the market leaders. The absence of some standard player props limits what you can actually construct. It is usable, not a reason to choose HighBet.
Golf and motorsport are thin — majors and outrights only in golf, patchy motorsport coverage with notable gaps.
Is the HighBet App Any Good?
HighBet has an iOS app but no Android app. Android users are on the mobile site, which is a responsive version of the desktop build rather than a dedicated product.
The mobile site is good, and it does one thing better than the desktop version: a rotating bar on the sports menu that surfaces whatever’s in season right now — the Premier League, the Six Nations, whatever’s live — so you’re never more than a tap from the big competitions. Android users will still want a native app eventually, and the absence of one is the main reason this category doesn’t score higher, but the browser experience is a solid stand-in rather than a dealbreaker.
(A dedicated page covering the app in detail is planned at /bookmakers/highbet-review/app — link it from here once it’s live.)
Does HighBet Have Live Streaming?
No. HighBet does not offer live streaming on any sport.
There is in-play betting with live statistics, but no video. Plenty of punters never use bookmaker streaming, so this won’t matter to everyone — but if watching racing or midweek football through your account is part of how you bet, you’ll want to pair HighBet with bet365 or another streaming book.
Deposits and Withdrawals — How Long Does HighBet Take to Pay Out?
HighBet accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Skrill and Neteller. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees.
| Method | Min | Max | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa | £10 | £2,000 | None |
| Mastercard | £10 | £2,000 | None |
| Apple Pay | £10 | £2,000 | None |
| Skrill | £10 | £10,000 | None |
| Neteller | £10 | £10,000 | None |
Deposits are instant across all five methods. The removal of the deposit processing fees that the old HighBet charged is the single biggest improvement of the relaunch.
Two things to note. First, no PayPal — worth knowing if that’s your default. Second, HighBet does not publish stated withdrawal times anywhere on the site, which is unusual and unhelpful. Their support team quotes 3–5 working days as a general guideline.
HighBet quote 3–5 working days. We requested a debit card withdrawal at 2.40pm on Monday 20th July and the funds landed at 9am on Wednesday 22nd July — a 2 day withdrawal time.”
Does HighBet Restrict Winning Accounts?
Every UK bookmaker reserves the right to limit stakes, and HighBet is no exception — its terms allow it, as they all do.
In HighBet’s case the relaunched operation is new enough that there’s no established pattern either way, so we can’t tell you it’s more or less tolerant than average — we’d rather say that than guess. Smaller books sometimes have more appetite for a winning account than the household names do, but it’s not something we’d promise. If staying unrestricted is your priority, our guide to bookmakers that don’t restrict accounts covers the books with the best track record.
What Is HighBet Customer Support Like?
Live chat is available 24/7, and email support runs alongside it. There is no telephone number.
The 24/7 live chat is a real positive and a clear step up from where HighBet used to be — responses come back promptly even at unsociable hours, which is more than you can say for some far bigger operators. On more detailed queries it can take a couple of exchanges to get a full answer, but you will get one.
The gap is the lack of a proper help centre, so questions you’d normally look up yourself — withdrawal timescales, bonus terms, verification — go through chat instead. Given the chat is genuinely round-the-clock, that’s less of an issue than it would be otherwise.
Responsible Gambling at HighBet
This is the area where HighBet clearly exceeds the minimum, and it deserves credit for it.
Shortly after you open an account, HighBet sends a proactive message dedicated entirely to safer gambling — not buried in the footer, not a checkbox, an actual communication that lands in front of you. It covers deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion, and signposts external support services. Most bookmakers meet their licence obligation and no more. This goes further, and it’s the sort of thing I’d like to see become standard.
All the standard tools are available in your account settings: deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion. GAMSTOP self-exclusion applies across all UKGC-licensed operators including HighBet.
If gambling is causing you problems, free confidential help is available at GambleAware.org or on the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133.
