AI Football Predictions – Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot

AI predictions

We asked the four leading AI models — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot — to predict the score of every Premier League game on the opening weekend, and remarkably, all four returned the identical scoreline on three separate fixtures.

It’s the ultimate pundit experiment: four of the most powerful AIs in the world, each calling the weekend’s fixtures, with a consensus view showing where they agree. Below are this week’s AI predictions, engine by engine, plus where the models line up and where they split.

AI Predictions Consensus: Opening Weekend

Where all four AI models agree, you’ve got a genuine consensus call. Here are the opening-weekend fixtures where ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot are aligned:

FixtureAI ConsensusModels Agreeing
Arsenal vs CoventryArsenal win, 3-04/4 (identical score)
Hull vs Manchester UnitedMan United win, 1-24/4 (identical score)
Everton vs Crystal PalaceDraw, 1-14/4 (identical score)

The headline: all four models — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot — independently returned the exact same scoreline on three fixtures: Arsenal 3-0, a 1-2 Man United win at Hull, and a 1-1 Everton–Palace draw. When four different AIs land on the identical score without conferring, that’s about as strong a consensus signal as this experiment produces.

Where the AIs Disagree

The most interesting fixtures are the ones that split the models. Here’s where ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot don’t see eye to eye this week:

Newcastle vs Liverpool — the fixture that split the models most. Three of the four (ChatGPT, Copilot and, on the numbers, a level game) lean towards a high-scoring draw, with ChatGPT and Copilot both on 2-2. Gemini backs a Newcastle home win (2-1), while Claude is the outlier for a Liverpool away win (1-2), weighing Newcastle’s disruption after Eddie Howe’s departure. Every model flagged this as the weekend’s most volatile game — the one thing they agree on is that they can’t agree.

Man City vs Bournemouth — all four back a City win, but the margin splits them wildly: Claude is cautious at 2-0, while ChatGPT (4-1), Gemini (3-1) and Copilot (4-0) all expect a rout. A rare case where the result is unanimous but the scoreline spread is three goals wide.

Brighton vs Aston Villa — a genuine four-way split on the result: Claude sees a Brighton win (2-1), ChatGPT an Aston Villa win (1-2), and both Gemini and Copilot a 2-2 draw. No consensus at all — the most divided fixture of the weekend.

Nottingham Forest vs Leeds — Claude alone backs a clean Forest win (2-0), ChatGPT a narrow Forest win (2-1), while Gemini and Copilot both call a 2-2 draw. The models agree it’s high-event, but split on whether Forest’s home edge is decisive.

AI Premier League Prediction League: The Running Leaderboard

This is where we settle it. Each gameweek we score all four models against the real results — 3 points for a correct score, 1 point for the correct result (win, draw or the right team to win) — and keep a running total across the whole 2026/27 season. Bookmark this page to see which AI is topping the prediction league.

How the Scoring Works

  • Correct score (exact result, e.g. predicting 2-1 and it finishes 2-1): 3 points
  • Correct result (right outcome but wrong score, e.g. predicting 2-1 and it finishes 3-0): 1 point
  • Wrong result: 0 points

A model predicting all ten fixtures can score a maximum of 30 points in a gameweek.

Can AI Predict Football Results?

AI models can be surprisingly good at football predictions, but they’re not crystal balls. Large language models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot don’t calculate outcomes from live data feeds the way a statistical model does — instead they reason over form, head-to-head records, home advantage and squad quality from their training and, in some cases, live search. That makes them strong at spotting the likely result but far less reliable at calling an exact scoreline, which is genuinely hard for anyone — human or machine. The value in tracking four models is the consensus: when all four independently land on the same result, that’s a stronger signal than any single prediction.

Which AI Is Best at Football Predictions?

No model has a definitive edge — each has different strengths, and their accuracy varies week to week just like human pundits. Rather than crown one, we track all four and record how they do through the season, so you can see which engine is running hot. We’ll update the running scorecard here as the campaign progresses.

How We Generate the AI Predictions

Each gameweek we put the same Premier League fixtures to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot and record each model’s predicted scoreline, exactly as given. We don’t edit the picks — the tables above are the raw AI outputs — and we highlight the consensus where three or more models agree. It’s a transparent, repeatable experiment run fresh every week of the season.

Frequently Asked Questions

The score predictions from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot for this week’s Premier League fixtures are in the tables above, updated every gameweek, along with a consensus view.

Can AI predict football results?

AI models are good at predicting the likely result based on form and quality, but exact scorelines are much harder. Tracking several models and taking the consensus gives a stronger signal than any single prediction.

Which AI is best at football predictions?

No model has a clear edge — accuracy varies week to week. We track all four and record their results through the season so you can see which is performing best.

Are the AI predictions free?

Yes. We round up the AI predictions for free and update them every gameweek of the 2026/27 season.
