Extra Places on Champions Day

Betfred is paying extra each-way places in two of the biggest-field races on the card, which is where each-way betting really pays. Both apply at the standard 1/5 of the odds:

  • 14:05 Ascot (the Sprint): paid to four places instead of three – a 16-runner cavalry charge down the straight six furlongs, exactly the sort of race where a fourth place can rescue an each-way bet.
  • 16:35 Ascot (the Balmoral Handicap): paid to five places instead of four – a 23-runner handicap to close the day, about as competitive as racing gets.

Back your each-way selection in either race and the extra place is applied automatically.

Best Odds Guaranteed

Best Odds Guaranteed runs on all UK and Irish races from 08:00 on the day. Take an early price and if your horse starts at a bigger SP, Betfred pay you out at the bigger price. Free bets, ante-post, Tote and Lucky 15/31/63 bets do not qualify, and the day’s Super Extra Place races are excluded, but on a standard win or each-way single it is money for nothing when a price drifts.

Multiply Your Odds

Betfred boosts your multiples on horse racing, greyhound and virtual racing. Land a Lucky 15 and the odds are trebled (3x), a Lucky 31 gets 4x and a Lucky 63 gets 5x. All your selections must run, and if only one wins you are paid out in cash. It is a tidy edge if you are building a Lucky 15 across the Champions Day card.

Where to Use It on Champions Day

With £50 in free bets and extra places on two races, there is plenty to aim at across the seven-race card. For our model’s selection in every race see our Champions Day tips, for the full preview and runners our Ascot Champions Day guide, and for every other bookmaker offer our Champions Day free bets page. The extra places make an each-way bet in the Sprint or the Balmoral especially appealing.
