1.10pm Cheltenham Tips: Spectacularsunrise and O’Moore Park
The William Hill Epic Boosts Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase has 11 runners over two and a half miles, and we’re siding with Spectacularsunrise for Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies with Sam Twiston-Davies riding. Spectacularsunrise has won over this distance before, won last time out at Perth and has a win on this ground. The yard is flying too, with eight winners from 25 runners in the last 14 days. The price was 4/1 this morning, and our figures give a 15% chance.
Value pick: O’Moore Park (each-way) is the highest-rated horse in the race on 137 and has won over this trip. The run last time, third of three at Uttoxeter, explains the big price, but we make the fair price 12/1 against the 22/1 on offer. Sean Bowen rides for Martin Keighley. Midnite are paying four places on this race instead of the usual three.
1.45pm Cheltenham Tip: Road To Wembley (NAP)
Our NAP of the day runs in the William Hill Extra Places Every Day Novices’ Hurdle, a six-runner race over almost three miles. Road To Wembley is the highest-rated in the field on 125 and has been placed in two of the last three starts. Road To Wembley was beaten favourite last time, but Olly Murphy’s yard has eight winners from 31 runners in the last 14 days and Sean Bowen rides. Our model gives a 30% chance, the highest of any of our Cheltenham selections today, and the price was 11/8 this morning.
2.20pm Cheltenham Tip: Seaniecon
The Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle is a 19-runner qualifier, so it’s one of the trickier puzzles on the card. Seaniecon heads the betting at 5/2 in cheekpieces for Jonjo and A.J. O’Neill, with Jonjo O’Neill Jr. riding. Seaniecon has won over this distance and the yard has six winners from 32 runners in the last fortnight. With so many runners, each-way backers should note that Midnite are paying six places on this race.
2.55pm Cheltenham Tips: Katate Dori and Mt Fugi Park
Nine go to post for the William Hill Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Chase over three miles and a furlong. Katate Dori is the highest-rated runner on 135, has won three times over this distance and has two wins from seven runs on this ground. Sam Thomas tries a tongue tie and blinkers for the first time, and Dylan Johnston rides. Katate Dori was 4/1 this morning and our figures give an 18% chance.
Value pick: Mt Fugi Park (each-way) is the second-highest rated on 131 and has won three of nine starts around this trip. Mt Fugi Park is another from the in-form Jonjo and A.J. O’Neill yard, and we make the fair price 11/2, well shorter than the 10/1 this morning.
3.30pm Cheltenham Tips: North Shore and La Luna Artista
The Masterson Holdings Hurdle is a seven-runner race over two miles. North Shore wears cheekpieces for the first time for Dan Skelton, whose yard has had 23 winners from 94 runners in the last 14 days, and Harry Skelton rides. North Shore has won over this distance, has a win on this ground and was 9/4 this morning.
Value pick: La Luna Artista has won two of four starts around this trip, is two from two on this ground and has been placed in two of the last three. A beaten-favourite run last time is why La Luna Artista is 6/1 against our fair price of 5/1. Betfred are paying three places on this race, when a seven-runner race usually pays two.
4.05pm Cheltenham Tip: Catchintsavo (Next Best)
Our Next Best is Catchintsavo in the six-runner Novices’ Chase over three miles and a furlong. Anthony Honeyball’s runner has been placed in each of the last three starts, has two wins from six runs on this ground and is the second-highest rated in the race on 135. Sam Twiston-Davies rides, our model gives a 24% chance, and the price was 9/4 this morning.
4.40pm Cheltenham Tip: Newgrove
The day ends with a 14-runner National Hunt Flat Race, where form is thin, so we’re going with the market and the yard. Newgrove heads the betting at 10/3 for Dan Skelton, who has 23 winners from 94 runners in the last two weeks, and Harry Skelton rides. bet365 are paying four places on this one.
