Grade One action dominates Saturday night, with nine top-class contests from Keeneland as the Breeders’ Cup continues. ITV Racing covers the last four races – the Mile, Distaff, Turf and Classic – while early birds can catch the rest of the card on Sky Sports Racing or Racing TV, with plenty of UK and Irish interest throughout. Below are our selections for every race.

17:10 Keeneland: Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (Grade 1)
SWEET AZTECA has won her last five and is unbeaten since joining Richard Baltas, and the Sharp Azteca mare can keep that record going. Most of her winning has come at a lower grade, but she has struck at this level before, taking the Beholder Mile for previous handler Michael McCarthy back in 2024, and she was impressive last time when scoring by five lengths at Del Mar in Grade Three company. This trip is no issue, and as the highest-rated runner in the field she can go close.
17:48 Keeneland: Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (Grade 1)
CY FAIR is back at a more suitable distance having disappointed over farther last time, and George Weaver’s filly can bounce back. The Not This Time filly had won four of her previous four, including last year’s Juvenile Turf Sprint, with her latest victory a good Grade Three success at Saratoga in July – both the third and fourth home have won since. It is possible the longer trip in the Grade Two Music City Stakes stretched her stamina, and back over this lesser yardage a big run would be no shock despite her number-10 draw.
18:26 Keeneland: Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (Grade 1)
BRACKET BUSTER was a shade unlucky at Philadelphia last month as the Vekoma colt went for a hat-trick of wins, and Victoria Oliver’s charge can quickly return to winning ways. He had won three of his previous four, including back-to-back scores at Mountaineer in August following ten months off, and that latter form has thrown up subsequent winners. Beaten only two lengths last time, he was denied a clear run at a crucial stage and lost significant ground before being switched out, running on strongly without catching the winner, who has since won again. Still progressive, he should be on the premises once more.
19:04 Keeneland: Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (Grade 1)
Unbeaten this season, BLUE BOLT does not have the best of draws, but Andrew Balding’s filly can extend her winning record. The Blue Point filly is a perfect six from six this campaign, most recently seeing off Evolutionist impressively in the Sun Chariot at Newmarket, and she has already taken the measure of reopposing Precise in two previous meetings. Conditions present no issue and the yard is in good heart. This is a longer trip, though, and she is yet to prove she stays it, with some doubts over her pedigree – but she shapes as if she will, and could prove hard to beat if the distance holds no problems.
19:42 Keeneland: Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint (Grade 1)
ENGLISHMAN has a big reputation and the Maxfield colt can enhance it further. Cherie Devaux’s crack sprinter has been beaten only once, at Churchill Downs in May, winning his last two including a four-length defeat of Deep Flame at Saratoga in August. He drops back to sprinting having won those two over seven furlongs, but the stronger emphasis on speed is no concern as he has won over this trip before, while his one defeat came at a mile that possibly stretched him. His latest win came at this grade, and though the widest draw is not ideal, it would be no big shock were he to prevail again.
20:20 Keeneland: FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile (Grade 1)
It is hard to get away from NOTABLE SPEECH following his win last time at Woodbine, and the Godolphin runner can strike again. Charlie Appleby’s colt won this twelve months ago and has followed the same path this year, landing the same Woodbine prep beforehand. He has also won at Newbury and York this term, taking the Group One City Of York by three lengths from Lake Forest, form that looks very solid. He won by just over a length from reopposing Deterministic last time but appeared to do so cosily, and he ought to prove hard to beat here.
20:58 Keeneland: Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (Grade 1)
FULLY SUBSCRIBED has won her last three, including latest over course and distance, and Chad Brown’s filly can continue her run. The Tiz The Law filly had twice beaten Scottish Kassie at Saratoga, by ten lengths on the second occasion, and was impressive in beating Counting Stars in the three-runner Juddmonte Spinster Stakes here last time. This is tougher, but she is proven over course and distance on similar ground, and has every chance of going close.
21:36 Keeneland: Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (Grade 1)
HOTAZHELL arrives on the back of two Group One wins, the latest in the Irish Champion Stakes, and Jessica Harrington’s charge can strike again. Neither win was by more than a nose, and all his winning form has come at ten furlongs or shorter – he has tackled this trip just once before, in last season’s Arc at Longchamp, where the ground may have been too much for him. The Too Darn Hot colt has shown up far better on quicker conditions, which he gets here, and looked last time as though he would get further. He is worth another try at the distance, and it would be no shock to see him competitive at a decent price.
22:16 Keeneland: Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (Grade 1)
MAGNITUDE is forgiven his run last time at Saratoga, where he stumbled at the start and never got involved in the Grade One Whitney, and Steven Asmussen’s colt is far better judged on his earlier four-win run that included the Dubai World Cup and the Grade One Stephen Foster. The Not This Time colt won readily at Saratoga on that latter occasion, beating Sovereignty by five lengths – and Sovereignty went on to win that eventful Whitney – so he can gain revenge here. A trailblazer who will likely set out to make all as he did at Meydan, it is no easy task in a field of this quality, but he looks set to run a big race, and his flop last time is overlooked.
