In the betting odds for this match, Aston Villa are the 21/20 favourites, Brighton are 5/2 because they’ve got nothing to play for, and the draw is 29/10.

Brighton to win

Brighton have had an excellent season and I’m backing them to finish it off on a high as they travel to Birmingham to face Aston Villa. Brighton have already secured sixth place, ahead of their opponents Villa who are seventh, but they’ll be looking to end an impressive campaign with a win. They have won 18 Premier League games this season, and their last two have been a 1-1 draw with Manchester City and a 3-1 win over Southampton. For Villa, their last three have been a loss, a win and a draw, so they are in very much middle of the road form at the minute. I think Brighton will take all three points in this one.

Alexis Mac Allister over 0.5 shots on target

This game is likely to be Alexis Mac Allister’s last ever in the blue and white of Brighton, as he looks increasingly likely to be a Liverpool player for next season. The World Cup winner will be looking to sign off on a positive, and I think he will be right up for this one. He averages 2.74 shots per average match, with an average of 1.10 being on target. I’m backing him to have at least one shot on target in this one.

John McGinn to be booked

John McGinn is known for picking up a card or two, and he has stuck to his reputation this season. The Scotland star has seen yellow on six occasions this season, and I’m backing him to pick up his seventh in the final game of the season. He averages 1.25 fouls per game, and coming up against the likes of Mac Allister, he will be in for a tough shift. He is great odds for a card here.
