Which Betfred Deposit Methods Qualify for the £50 Offer?
This is the detail that costs people the bonus. Only three methods trigger the Bet £10 Get £50 welcome offer: a debit card, a debit card via Apple Pay, or Open Banking (Truelayer). PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard and bank transfer let you deposit and bet normally, but they won’t unlock the £50. Can I Use a Credit Card at Betfred?
Only if you’re a resident of Gibraltar, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. Credit cards are banned for gambling across the UK, so — like every UK bookmaker — Betfred only accepts debit cards for UK customers, not credit.
How Does Open Banking Work at Betfred?
Open Banking (powered by Truelayer) lets you pay directly from your bank account — no card details needed, no fees, and protected by bank-level security and two-factor authentication. To use it: select Open Banking on the deposit page, log in to your online banking, and authorise the payment. It’s supported by most UK banks, it’s instant, and it’s one of the three methods that qualify for the welcome offer. If your bank isn’t listed, you’ll need to choose another method.

Why Won’t Betfred Let Me Deposit?
If a deposit won’t go through, it’s usually one of these:
Payment not in your name. Betfred requires the payment method to be in the same name as your account — a card or e-wallet in someone else’s name will be declined.
Account not verified. Complete ID verification (KYC) before depositing.
Bank blocking the transaction. Some banks block gambling payments — contact them, or try Open Banking.
Deposit limit reached. Check whether you’ve hit a responsible-gambling limit you set.
