Our Newcastle vs West Brom bet builder tips, predictions and best bets start with a number that shapes everything else: Newcastle kept one clean sheet in their last twenty and both teams scored in seventeen of them. West Brom kept nine. Two of our four legs are prop bets.
Team figures cover each side’s last 20 league matches. Newcastle’s are Premier League figures and West Brom’s Championship.

Newcastle vs West Brom Bet Builder Tips
Both Teams to Score — 17 of Newcastle’s Last 20, 9 of West Brom’s
One clean sheet in twenty is the worst defensive record we have logged this season, and Newcastle conceded 39 goals across the sample at 1.95 a game. At home it was 1.80. Both teams have scored in eighty-five per cent of their matches.
They are not the problem at the other end either — two blanks in twenty, 1.75 goals a game and 2.70 big chances created. On Newcastle’s record alone this leg is close to a formality.
West Brom are the reason it is not. Nine clean sheets, 0.85 conceded a game, 27.15 clearances and 4.50 blocked shots a match — a side built to keep the score down and one that managed it in nearly half its matches. They also failed to score in seven of twenty, so the leg needs the visitors to do something they often did not.
Over 2.5 Goals — 15 of Newcastle’s Last 20, 8 of West Brom’s
Seventy-five per cent of Newcastle’s matches cleared 2.5 and forty-five per cent went past 3.5, which is a side involved in open games whether it wants to be or not. They score 1.75 and concede 1.95, and 1.73 expected goals against 1.81 says the results match the underlying numbers.
West Brom pull hard the other way. Eight of twenty over 2.5 and two past 3.5, with 1.30 expected goals for and 1.07 against. Ten draws in twenty is what happens when a side controls matches without winning many of them, and the over 2.5 goals line is the first casualty of that.
So this leg is a straight bet on which side’s habits win. Newcastle at home have gone over in more matches than not, but the squad that produced those figures has lost its three best players — which is the caution running through this whole page.
L. Hall 1+ Tackle — A Tackle in 5 of His Last 6
Five, one, two, two, nought and three in his last six, at 2.11 per 90 across 1,453 minutes. The single blank came in a 22-minute appearance, so the floor is firmer than a bare five-of-six suggests.
He is also the largest defensive sample Newcastle have left. Guimarães and Joelinton were the two players above him on tackle volume and neither is available — one sold, one out until September — which makes Hall both the best record on the page and one of the few certain to be on it.
West Brom enter the final third 60.80 times a game, more often than Newcastle despite holding a similar share of the ball. A side that plays forward that directly gives a left-back plenty to deal with, and our tackles and fouls prop bets page sets out why that matters more than the raw per-90 figure.
J. Molumby 1+ Foul Drawn — Fouled in 5 of His Last 6
Two, nought, one, one, one and two in his last six, at 1.58 per 90 across 1,594 minutes. The second-largest sample in the West Brom squad and one of the few that survives the summer intact.
Newcastle commit 11.20 fouls a game and take 2.25 cards of their own, both higher than West Brom’s figures, and Madley books 4.55 a match. A midfielder who gets fouled at this rate against a side that fouls at that one is the sort of pairing that produces the tightest player market on the page.
What beats it is the same thing that beats the tackle leg from the other side. If Newcastle dominate the ball, Molumby spends the evening chasing rather than carrying, and a player without possession does not get fouled. His floor across six matches is one, and it is the leg most likely to fall a single incident short.
How the Four Fit Together
Two goals legs and two prop bets, and the goals legs overlap — a match with goals at both ends has usually cleared 2.5, so the price is shorter than four independent selections. Our bet builder tips page explains why we take that trade.
The two prop bets pull in opposite directions, which is the useful part. Hall needs West Brom to have the ball; Molumby needs Newcastle to have it. Between them they cover both shapes the evening could take.
The leg most likely to let it down is both teams to score, and it is the West Brom end of it — nine clean sheets in twenty and seven blanks of their own.
Newcastle vs West Brom Prediction
We are predicting 2-1 to Newcastle. Our model gives them 48%, the draw 26% and West Brom 26%, from expected goals of 1.50 and 1.00.
Run unadjusted it comes out dead level, because Newcastle conceded 1.95 a game and West Brom 0.85 — a Premier League side with a Championship side’s defensive record meeting a Championship side with a Premier League one. We have moved it for the division gap and moved it back again for the three players Newcastle sold, and the honest position is that this fixture is closer than the badges suggest.
No price was available when this was written. If the market disagrees with our 48% by more than about ten points, take the market. Compare UK bookmakers before you place it.
