France vs Morocco Betting Tips and Bet Builder Predictions

Gillette Stadium Foxborough

The World Cup quarter-finals get underway on Thursday evening, and it’s a cracker to get things underway as France take on Morocco, and you can see our betting tips and 13/2 bet builder below.

France have won five from five so far, conceding only two goals. Morocco finished second in their group behind Brazil, with two wins and a draw in the group stage, followed by a penalties win over Holland and a 3-0 victory against Canada in the knockout stages.

France have had an excellent tournament so far and are favourites to go all the way and win the competition. They had a difficult game against Paraguay last time out, which was a real physical battle, but they showed strength and resilience to overcome their South American opponents.

Morocco faced a tough task in Canada last time out, but ran out 3-0 winners against one of the host nations. It wasn’t a 3-0 game as such, with Canada putting on a decent showing, but I think Morocco were comfortable in the end.

Kick-off is 9pm UK on Thursday 9 July at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

France to Win @ 11/20

This game has all the ingredients to be an absolute World Cup classic. Both teams have been impressive at both ends, with France scoring 14 and conceding only two, while Morocco have scored 10 and conceded four. France in particular are very strong going forward, with the pace of Mbappé, Olise and Dembélé causing real problems for defences so far. France have won nine of their last 10, including friendlies, and they’re favourites to win the World Cup for a reason. I think they’ll come out on top here and progress to the semi-final.

Both Teams to Score @ 1/1

Both teams will be right up for it here, and I think they’ll both go all out attack. Morocco will be particularly vulnerable if they go for it, considering the pace France have got going forward. Morocco also possesses a lot of flair, however, and I think they will also create chances. This is two fantastic teams going head to head on the biggest stage, and I think evens is great odds for both teams to score in this one.

Kylian Mbappe to Score @ 10/11

Kylian Mbappe is flying at this tournament so far with seven goals in five games, the second-highest scorer behind Lionel Messi, who has eight goals to his name. He bagged a penalty last time out against Paraguay, two before that against Sweden, two against Iraq and two against Senegal. France will create a lot of chances here, and I would be more surprised if Mbappe failed to score, than if he did. 10/11 is good odds for him to bag his eighth goal of the tournament.

Michael Olise Over 0.5 Shots on Target @ 8/15

Michael Olise has been performing at the very top level for a while now, especially since his move to Bayern Munich. At this World Cup, he has become France’s key to unlocking defences, controlling games and causing teams a lot of problems. He has had five shots on target in this World Cup, with two in their opening game and three against Sweden in the round of 32. This game will be fireworks from the off, and both sides will create chances. I think Olise will have at least one shot on target against Morocco.

Alternative Bet — Kylian Mbappe to Score 2+ at 5/1

5/1 is fantastic odds for Mbappe to score two or more here, boosting the odds of this bet builder to 16/1 with bet365. He has bagged a brace in three games so far, and I think 5/1 is extremely generous for him to do that here.
