William Hill Scratch of the Day has been discontinued and is no longer available. The daily scratch card game was a popular free-to-play promotion for existing William Hill customers, but has since been removed from the platform. If you have arrived here looking to play it, unfortunately, it is no longer active.
The good news is that there are still plenty of free-to-play betting games available at other bookmakers – and some of them offer significantly bigger prizes than Scratch of the Day ever did. We have listed the best current alternatives below.
What Was William Hill Scratch of the Day?
Scratch of the Day was a free daily scratch card game available to existing William Hill customers. It was available through the William Hill app and website and required no deposit or stake to play – customers simply logged in and scratched their daily card for a chance to win free bets or cash prizes.
The promotion was well regarded because it gave existing customers a genuine daily reason to engage with the William Hill platform without spending any money. It ran for several years before being discontinued.
William Hill have not announced a direct replacement for Scratch of the Day. Their current promotions for existing customers focus on acca insurance, odds boosts and their William Hill sign-up offer for new customers.
Best Free-to-Play Betting Games Available Now
These are the best free-to-play games currently active at UK bookmakers. All are free to enter, require no stake, and are available to existing customers.
Sky Bet Super 6
Super 6 is the most popular free-to-play game in UK betting and has been running for years. Each week, you predict the correct scores of six selected football matches – usually Premier League fixtures on a Saturday afternoon. Get all six right, and you win a share of the jackpot, which is typically £250,000.
You do not need to get all six correct to win something. Prizes are also awarded for five correct, four correct, and so on, with a Golden Goal tiebreaker used to split tied entries at the top.
Super 6 is free to play and available to anyone with a Sky Bet account. You do not need to place any bets to enter.
Prize: Up to £250,000 jackpot
How often: Weekly (typically Saturday matchdays)
Where: Sky Bet app or website
Cost: Free
bet365 6 Scores Challenge
The bet365 6 Scores Challenge works in the same way as Super 6 – predict the correct scores of six selected football matches and win a share of £250,000 if you get all six right. Prizes are also available for fewer correct predictions, starting from two correct scores which earns a £2 free bet.
One useful feature of the bet365 version is that you can edit your predictions for any remaining fixtures up until the final match kicks off. So if you change your mind on a selection before kick-off, you can update your entry.
Prize: Share of £250,000 for six correct scores; £2 free bet for two correct.
How often: Weekly
Where: bet365 app or website
Cost: Free
Paddy Power Beat The Drop
Beat The Drop is a daily free-to-play game at Paddy Power that works differently to the correct score games above. You are presented with a series of yes/no questions on sport – football, horse racing, NFL and others – and you must navigate through them to keep your prize pot alive.
You can choose to play with a £5,000 virtual pot and answer 15 questions, or a £5 pot and answer 5 questions. Each correct answer keeps the pot intact; wrong answers reduce it. Whatever is left in your pot at the end is yours to keep as cash.
Beat The Drop is available daily and requires a Paddy Power account to play.
Prize: Up to £5,000 in cash
How often: Daily
Where: Paddy Power app or website via the Rewards Club
Cost: Free

Are There Any Other William Hill Free Games?
William Hill have not replaced Scratch of the Day with a comparable daily free game. Their existing customer promotions currently include odds boosts on selected matches, acca insurance on qualifying multiples, and their loyalty programme – but nothing that replicates the daily free scratch card format.
If a replacement is launched, we will update this page. In the meantime, the three games above are the best free-to-play options for UK punters.
William Hill Existing Customer Offers
While Scratch of the Day is gone, William Hill still have worthwhile promotions for existing customers. These include:
- Acca insurance – stake back as a free bet if one leg of a qualifying accumulator loses
- Odds boosts – enhanced prices on selected matches, available daily
- Free bet clubs – stake requirements to earn regular free bets
For new customers, William Hill’s current sign-up offer is Bet £10 Get £40 in Free Bets.
