Tottenham vs Leeds betting tips

Tottenham host Leeds at home on Monday evening in a Premier League fixture with serious survival stakes — Spurs sit 17th and fighting relegation, while Leeds in 14th, have secured safety.

Backing Spurs to make it three wins on the bounce alongside Richarlison shots on target and bookings for Joao Palhinha and Ethan Ampadu gives us a 22/1 bet builder with BetMGM. Here’s the full preview and tips.

Tottenham vs Leeds Match Preview

Tottenham are still in the thick of it at the bottom of the Premier League, and could end up relegated to the Championship for next season. They are 17th in the league, and their opponents here, Leeds, are 14th, six ahead of Spurs. West Ham’s loss yesterday means Spurs can go four points clear of relegation with two games remaining, if they win tonight.

Spurs have picked up recently, and come into this one unbeaten in their last three, with a draw against Brighton and two victories, coming against Wolves and Aston Villa.

Leeds were victorious over Burnley last time out, and have lost only two of their last 10 in all competitions, with four draws and four wins in that time.

This match is pundit-divided. Chris Sutton predicts a 2-1 Spurs win, Jones Knows backs Spurs 2-0, while Paul Merson breaks ranks and predicts a 1-2 Leeds win. The fixture also has direct implications for the wider Tottenham relegation picture.

The Tips

BEST BET BUILDER TIP — Tottenham to win @ 10/11

Tottenham have won their last two, and I think they have turned a corner and will save themselves from the drop. I’m backing them to overcome Leeds at home on Monday evening and make it three wins on the bounce. In their last 10, they have lost five, won three and drawn two, in all competitions. Leeds are in a decent run of form, but pick up a lot of draws. Given Spurs are battling for their lives to stay up, I think they’ll have enough to beat Leeds for the second time this season.

Richarlison over 0.5 shots on target — 21/50

Richarlison scored last time out against Villa, and I’m backing him to have one or more shots on target again on Monday evening. In his 29 Premier League appearances this season, the Brazilian striker has scored 10 goals, having 23 shots on target — an average of more than 0.5 per game. He has also scored one in the Champions League, where he had five shots on target in seven appearances. I think Spurs will have chances here, and I think there’s a great chance of Richarlison having one or more on target.

ALTERNATIVE BET — Richarlison to score @ 8/5

At odds of 8/5, taking the striker to bag his 11th Premier League goal of the season increases the odds of this bet builder to a very decent 35/1 with BetMGM.

Joao Palhinha to be booked — 11/5

The first player I think has a good chance of being carded here is Spurs midfielder Joao Palhinha. The 30-year-old has been carded on 10 occasions in all competitions this season, with six in the Premier League, two in the Champions League, and one in each of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. He has made 23 fouls in 30 league appearances this season, which is somewhat surprising given his number of bookings. At odds of 11/5, I think this is a strong addition to this bet builder.

Ethan Ampadu to be booked — 9/4

The second player I think could be carded is Leeds’ defensive midfielder, Ethan Ampadu. The Welsh international absolutely loves a card, and he’s picked up 11 in all competitions this season — with nine in the Premier League and two in the FA Cup. He was also carded twice for Wales in their World Cup qualifying campaign. He never shies away from a tackle, and in the league, he has made 45 fouls in 32 appearances, an average well above one foul per game.

Spurs have a good midfield, and he will be coming up against the likes of Conor Gallagher, who has been fouled 20 times in just 13 Prem appearances for Spurs this season, since joining from Atletico Madrid. I think Ampadu is great odds to be carded in this one.

Combined Bet Builder Odds — 22/1

Pulling the four selections together gives a 22/1 bet builder. £10 returns £230. £5 returns £115. £20 returns £460.

The bet works because all four selections lean in the same direction — Spurs putting their survival foot down at home:

  • Tottenham winning a desperate must-win against safe-and-relaxed Leeds (anchor)
  • Richarlison getting shots on target naturally follows from Spurs dominating possession
  • Palhinha drawn into multiple defensive contests as Spurs press for the result
  • Ampadu’s foul-heavy style collides with Spurs’ aggressive midfield press

The 22/1 price reflects the booking markets’ inherent volatility — neither Palhinha nor Ampadu cards are guaranteed even given their season records — but the underlying logic of all four legs is structurally consistent.
