Liverpool Form and Match Preview
Liverpool have lost only three of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions, including the first leg of this fixture last week. They’re fifth in the Premier League, just two points behind Aston Villa and one point ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea.
Despite the first leg setback, the Anfield factor makes Liverpool strong favourites to win on the night. The Reds are a different proposition at home — they have lost only one of their last 10 at Anfield in all competitions, and the crowd will be fully behind them from the first whistle as they chase the goal they need to level the tie. Arne Slot will know his side needs to start fast and create early pressure, and with the quality they possess going forward, a positive result on the night looks highly likely.
Key Liverpool injuries/suspensions: Alexander Isak, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Stefan Bajcetic, Wataru Endo all out. Joe Gomez fitness doubt.
Predicted Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike
Galatasaray Form and Match Preview
Galatasaray have won eight of their last 10 in all competitions, and find themselves top of the Super Lig in Turkey, seven points clear of Fenerbahce in second.
Galatasaray arrive at Anfield in a strong position but facing a very different challenge to anything they will have encountered domestically this season. Winning in Turkey last week was a genuinely impressive result, but their away form in Europe has been mixed — that 3-2 defeat at Juventus demonstrates they can be exposed defensively on the road when forced to absorb pressure. With Liverpool needing to attack and Anfield in full voice, the Turkish side will need a disciplined, organised performance to protect their one-goal advantage. They have the quality to cause damage on the counter, which is why both teams to score looks the key selection in this builder.
Key Galatasaray injuries/suspensions: Metehan Baltaci (suspension), Enes Büyük (injury), Davinson Sánchez (suspension).
Predicted Galatasaray XI (4-2-3-1): Çakir; Boey, Singo, Bardakci, Jakobs; Torreira, Lemina; Yilmaz, Sara, Lang; Osimhen
Our Liverpool vs Galatasaray Betting Tips
Tip 1 — Liverpool to Win (1/4)
I can’t see past a home win here, despite Galatasaray coming out on top in Turkey last week. The Reds have won six of their last 10 in all competitions and at Anfield they have lost only one of their last 10. They need to hit the ground running if they are to overcome that one-goal deficit, and I think the atmosphere and the quality of the squad will see them do that.
Galatasaray lost their last Champions League away fixture 3-2 against Juventus despite going through on aggregate — they can be got at. Liverpool might not end up qualifying, but a home win in 90 minutes looks highly likely regardless of the aggregate outcome. This is the base leg of the builder and, at 1/4, it does the job as the anchor.
Tip 2 — Both Teams to Score (7/10)
This is the best standalone bet on the page. Galatasaray have scored in nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions. Liverpool have scored in nine and conceded in seven of their last 10. The aggregate situation makes it even more compelling — Liverpool need to attack and chase, which naturally creates space for Galatasaray on the counter. A side with Osimhen up front will not simply park the bus for 90 minutes at Anfield.
The 7/10 is genuine value. Both teams to score has landed in the vast majority of recent Liverpool home games, and Galatasaray’s attacking record across the season backs this up. This is the tip I’d back on its own if you want a single bet rather than the full builder.
Tip 3 — Mario Lemina to Be Booked (9/4)
Mario Lemina is the first of two players I’m backing for a card, at 9/4. The former Wolves man has been carded nine times in all competitions this season — six in the Super Lig and three in the Champions League. He averages more than one foul per game in European competition, with nine fouls in eight Champions League appearances this season.
Coming up against a Liverpool midfield that will be pressing intensely from the first whistle, Lemina will be doing a huge amount of defensive work. As Galatasaray tire and Liverpool turn the screw in the second half, he is exactly the kind of midfield enforcer who picks up bookings under pressure. At 9/4, this is strong value.
Tip 4 — Virgil van Dijk to Be Booked (6/1)
Van Dijk is the second player I’m taking for a card, and at 6/1 he is the standout value selection in the entire builder. The Liverpool captain has been carded six times in all competitions this season — four in the Premier League and two in nine Champions League appearances. He averages more than one foul per game in European competition, with 12 fouls in nine appearances.
The key insight is Van Dijk’s elevated Champions League foul rate compared to his domestic numbers. In Europe, Liverpool have spent more time without the ball — which means Van Dijk has been forced into more physical defensive interventions. With Galatasaray’s pace on the counter through Osimhen, Yilmaz and Lang, that dynamic is highly likely to continue tonight. He picks up a booking here more often than 6/1 suggests.
Liverpool vs Galatasaray Predictions Summary
| Tip | Selection | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Match Result | Liverpool to win | 1/4 |
| Goals | Both teams to score | 7/10 |
| Cards | Mario Lemina to be booked | 9/4 |
| Cards | Virgil van Dijk to be booked | 6/1 |
| Bet Builder | All four combined | 40/1 |
Best single bet: Both teams to score at 7/10
Full bet builder: Liverpool win + BTTS + Lemina booked + Van Dijk booked — 40/1 with Boylesports
Alternative Bet — Van Dijk One or More Fouls (3/5)
If 6/1 for Van Dijk to be booked feels too big a price, swapping it for Van Dijk to make one or more fouls at 3/5 reduces the builder to 23/2. Given his average of 12 fouls in nine Champions League appearances this season, this is a much safer selection — at the cost of significantly shorter odds. The choice comes down to how much you value the certainty of the foul vs the reward of the card.
