West Ham v Leeds Match Preview

West Ham are fighting for their lives here, which will make for an exhilarating encounter as they welcome Leeds to the London Stadium this Sunday. They need Spurs to slip up at home to Everton, but they also need to do their job and win against Leeds at home.

West Ham aren’t in good form, but they need to find it this weekend if they’re to find themselves in the Premier League next season. The Hammers have won only three of their last 10, drawing three and losing four.

Leeds haven’t had the best of seasons, but they are eight unbeaten, which means the Hammers are meeting them at the wrong time. The two games previous to those eight, Leeds lost 1-0 against both Sunderland and Man City.

Best Bet Builder Tip — West Ham to Win (4/5)

I’m backing West Ham to come out on top this weekend. The Hammers are in poor form, and Leeds are doing well. However, I think West Ham will have all the fight they need this weekend, and I think they’ll stick to their side of the job with a victory over Leeds at home here. They need to win to have any chance of staying in the league, and they need Spurs to lose at home to Everton as well. I think West Ham will come out on top here, albeit I think they will be relegated as Spurs win at home to Everton.

Jarrod Bowen Over 0.5 Shots on Target (4/11)

Jarrod Bowen is the man I’m backing to have one or more shots on target this Sunday. The winger has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season, with eight in the Premier League and two in his three FA Cup appearances. I think West Ham will create a lot of chances this weekend as they bid to avoid the drop, and I think Bowen will be at the heart of a lot of them. In his 37 league matches, he has had 27 shots on target, an average well over 0.5 per game. I think he will have one or more this weekend, and this is a solid addition to this bet builder.

Jayden Bogle to Be Booked (17/5)

Leeds’ Jayden Bogle is the first of two players I think could pick up a card on Sunday. The right back has been carded eight times this season, with six in his 33 Premier League appearances, and two in four in the FA Cup. In those 33 league appearances, the 25-year-old has made 38 fouls, giving him an average of more than one foul per game. As West Ham come into this one all-out attack, I think he will have a lot to deal with at the back, and I expect he will make several fouls. 17/5 is good odds for him to be carded this weekend.

Tomas Soucek to Be Booked (10/3)

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek is the second player I’m backing for a booking this weekend. The 31-year-old has picked up seven cards in all competitions this season, with four yellows and one red card in the league, one in the FA Cup, and one in the EFL Trophy, in which he turned out for the West Ham under 23’s. He has made 37 fouls in 34 league appearances, an average of more than one foul per game. I think he’s good odds for a card here.

West Ham v Leeds Key Stats

  • Kick-off: 4pm BST, Sunday 24 May 2026, London Stadium
  • West Ham form: three wins in their last 10 (three draws, four defeats)
  • Leeds form: eight unbeaten, having lost 1-0 to both Sunderland and Manchester City in the two games before that run
  • West Ham must win and hope Tottenham lose at home to Everton to stay up
  • Jarrod Bowen: 10 goals in all competitions, 27 shots on target in 37 league matches
  • Jayden Bogle: eight cards in all competitions, 38 fouls in 33 Premier League appearances
  • Tomas Soucek: seven cards in all competitions, 37 fouls in 34 league appearances

Alternative Bet — Tomas Soucek Over 1.5 Fouls (5/4)

Taking Soucek to have over 1.5 fouls at odds of 5/4 reduces the odds of this bet builder to 14/1, with best odds found with Paddy Power. I think this will be a real midfield battle, and I think he will make a number of fouls. This is a safer bet, and 14/1 is still good odds if you’re to swap these selections.
