Aston Villa to win

Villa have had an excellent start to the season and are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, and haven’t lost a Premier League game since the beginning of September, a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool. The Villains have been in prolific goalscoring form, with their last three games being 4-1, 4-1 and 3-1 wins. Forest haven’t won since the start of September when they beat Chelsea 2-0, and in their last six, they have lost two and drawn four. They have only won one game at home this season, against bottom placed side Sheffield United. I think this will be a fairly comfortable win for Aston Villa.

Ollie Watkins to score or assist

Ollie Watkins is in red hot form at the minute, and is putting himself right in the frame to go to the Euro’s next summer with Gareth Southgate’s England. In the Premier League this season, the 27-year-old has scored five and assisted five in 10 games. I’m backing him to get another goal contribution in this one, as I expect Villa to spend the majority of the game on the front foot, and Watkins will be right at the heart of their attack.

Ryan Yates to be booked

Ryan Yates has picked up two yellow cards so far this season in his eight Premier League appearances. His tackle success rate is just 54%, and I think he will be forced into making a number of fouls in this one against a physical Aston Villa midfield containing the likes of John McGunn and Douglas Luiz. Last season, Yates made 19 starts and five sub appearances in the league, fouling on 43 occasions and picking up four bookings. I think he is good odds for a card in this one.
