Aston Villa vs Fulham Predictions

I’m backing Aston Villa to win this one at home to Fulham. The Villains have lost their last two in all competitions, but were in outstanding form prior to that, with five wins from five in the league and victories over Club Brugge, Preston, and PSG (in the second leg) in that time. Fulham have had an impressive season, but have lost two of their last three in the league. They have won four of their last five against Fulham, and I think Villa will come out on top here.

I do think both teams will score, however. Both teams have scored in seven of Fulham’s last 10 Premier League matches, with them bagging 14 goals in that time. For Villa, both teams have scored in seven of their last 10 also, and they have racked up a decent goal tally of 20 in those games. Both teams have scored in each of the last three meetings between these two, and I think it’s a safe bet at Villa Park this weekend.

I think Villa striker Ollie Watkins will have at least one shot on target here. The England forward has 15 Premier League goals this season in 34 appearances, and has scored one in the Champions League. He has had 36 shots on target in the league this season, giving him an average of over one per game. I think they’ll have plenty of chances here with the home crowd behind them, and Watkins has a great chance of scoring, or at least having one or more shots on target.

Fulham’s Sasa Lukic is the man we’re backing to pick up a booking this Saturday. The Serbian midfielder has picked up 12 yellow cards in 27 Premier League appearances this season. Operating in defensive midfield, he uses his strength and physicality to break down opposition attacks, often fouling in the process. He has made a massive 58 fouls in those 27 games, giving him an average of over two fouls per game. I think he will make a couple here and is good odds to pick up yet another booking.
